In Today's episode babho points at sandya and says look she is wearing mangal sutra, sindoor , bangles , which r a mark of a married woman and next year too she will be just like this.

I was wondering I have never seen Babho or meena or Emily wearing mangal sutra. I thought that sindoor and mangl sutra were integral part of a traditional married womans attire. How come babho being such a conservative and traditional woman, not following customs?

I am from South Indian. In the south, mangal sutra or even a turmeric tied in a yellow string/thread (substitutes for mangal sutra), is treated with reverence and respect and symbolizes a woman's status as a married woman. Especially older generation feel that even removing it would bring bad omen to the couple(like shorten husbands life).

I know lots of women don't wear mangal sutra nowadays, but babho being a traditionalist should be wearing it and insist that her beendnis wear mangal sutra also.

I was just curious. Don't Rajasthani women wear them? I thought all North Indians hindus also followed this custom.

I am from North and in North, wearing Mangal Sutra is not as important...my wife wears it only on special occasions. In fact I have not seen my Mom or Bhabhi wearing one unless they are going for some big occasion like marriage etc. Wearing Mangal Sutra has become an accessory in the mix of all those necklaces

In marriages, the new bride does get a Mangal Sutra from groom's side but daily wearing is not common in North.

Sindur and Bindi are must though...

My friend had once shown me a chain with coral beads and said it is her mangal sutra. On questioning, she told me it is not compulsory for them to wear. I have never known before of such thing as all women that I knew had always worn at least black beads or even a yellow thread mangal sutra as per their custom.

Bhabho or Meenakshi, I have not observed but you have raised a valid question regarding Bhabho not wearing one.

Bhabho or Meenakshi, I have not observed but you have raised a valid question regarding Bhabho not wearing one.

I think your friend is a Saraswat Konkani, and the corals on gold chain is the mangalsutra hooked by the hubby. One is supposed to wear one of the two, the other being black beads.

And Rajasthanis if I am not mistaken do not wear the mangalsutra regularly. Mangalsutra is compulsory only in some communities and some parts of India.

Interesting. So from the above, I conclude that ONLY Sandy wears the Mangalsutra all the time and is being ultra conservative. Wonder why Bhabo highlighted that. 🤔

😆😆 all this while I thought she was happily wearing it for Suraj...now I know Sandy is actually an extended version of bhabo 😆

I have no idea on MangalSutra, but I wonder will she wear with police uniform 😕 bhabo will surely create a big issue later with this matter

she was wearing it to conform with Bhabo's ideas - even though bhabo doesn't wear it !

or... and this I really want to see! ...Sandy actually is a Bharatiya Nari and is going to be conservative plus plus and put Bhabo to shame.

In our custom we have to wear a black beads chain along with the mangal sutra chain. But both r compulsory for us.

I too wonder abt this, here i got the answer.

At last We know Sandy is more conservative than Bhabho. 😆

Yes, sandy seems to be more traditional n conservative than babho herself,. She is going to teach babho a thing or two about being a dharm Pathni 😆 From respecting ur husband ( I don't mean being subservient) to wearing a mangal sutra!

Why does sandy wear it when even her il doesn't?

Mangal sutra gives her status as surajs wife.

Maybe sandy wears it to show her commitment to the relationship. People have been trying to break them up all the time.

To remind herself that suraj is infact her hubby😆. And to remind suraj that he has a wife?

She believes that marriage is first then IPS?

To show RP that she is in fact suraj's wife and not some slave to be trodden over at will by all the RP members.

@ Geeth : Mangalsutra plays a very important role for Sandy in previous track be it Sandy frustating in a night in kuldevi temple, when she was abt to remove it she can't . this shows how she respect that

or bhabho exposing their privacy by putting mangal sutra under her pillow or in SV2 track when Suraj's kurta button and Mangal sutra got stuck with each other in the bus.

Now Bhabho use it to do EA for IPS

So they made Sandy to wear Mangal sutra to use it as a prop whenever needed.
