When Saras came back home with a traumatized Kusum, Kumud broke down seeing her sister's state. As soon as Kumari took her inside, a livid Kumud rushed to the Adhikari's mansion. She slapped Pramad and called him a shameless man who can stoop very low. She also taunted SD for not raising her son properly. Saras reached there and stopped Pramad for raising his hand on Kumud.
Kumud warned Pramad again and left with Saras.
Back home, Saras told Kumud off for going to Pramad's house alone. Kumud also told him off for lying to her about Kusum. They started arguing. Finally Kumud broke down in Saras' arms. Saras reassured her that everything would be fine. Kusum witnessed the scene and cried and... confessed to herself that she is in love with Saras! Guniyal heard it and was shocked. Kusum ran away without any explanation.
Alak left BD's mansion with her husband. She refused to live with a criminal like Pramad. Finally SD slapped her useless son who was not all repentant.
When Kumud came to meet Kusum in her room, the latter asked her to hide the kidnapping chapter from the family. Kumud agreed but not Saras.
SaMud again had an argument. An angry Kumud told Saras - yes I have erred but no need to remind me of it every occasion u get!
Finally Saras confessed to her that he cared too much for her.
At school, Kumud was still not herself; she was upset with the way she had fought with Saras the night before. Saras came and said sorry in a cute way and they both patched up. Saras was to wait for her class dismissal but suddenly realized what he was doing. It was wrong and people's tongues would start wagging about them. He left and ignored Kumud all day.
An alliance came for Kusum. Kusum has accepted to get married and Guniyal was reassured. But it was from a 50 year old widower. Kumud refused and the family supported her. Koti baat maami went livid after the family left. She also taunted Kumud and how her jinxed destiny would ruin it all for the daughters in the house.
When Saras learned about it from Danny, he dumped all his self imposed restrictions and ran to way. He calmed her down and cheered her up and promised to be there for her.
Diwali was here!! The Desais were at the market. They bumped into the alliance people who humiliated them. Kalika joined in to add fuel to fire. At home everybody was happy. Kusum was making rangoli and described her ideal hubby to her sister looking at Saras. Kotibaat maami again taunted Kumud. Kumud left to clean up the chandelier. Saras came there. He knew she was upset and once again boosted her moral.
At night Saras came with gifts for the family. Happily they all went for puja but just then Kumud got a call. It was kalika to report to her what happened at the market. A hurt Kumud went upstairs where Saras was taking the chandelier down. She started breaking all the lamps and cursing her fate and how she would never get a second chance in life. Saras unable to see her in such state took her in his arms as Dugbaa looked on.
Later in the night, Saras came in Kumud's life to check on her. She was having nightmares and was restless in her sleep. He fanned her. Dugbaa came and Saras went to talk to her in the corridor. Finally Saras told her that he would like to make Kumud his because she needed him and his support and that he would never leave her.
Kumud heard their conversation. She was happy and started dreaming of a new start with Saras at her side. Suddenly her past came back to her and she turned all sad. She refused to put Saras' happiness n life in danger because of her past. On the other hand, Kalika informed Pramad about the market incident and how she only needed a chance to enter the Desais household to teach Kumud and her family a lesson. A frustrated and lonely Pramad (his parents too had left him) threw Kalika out of the house.
The next morning, Saras was daydreaming and all happy to meet Kumud. He heard the sounds of her kamarband chiming. He moved towards it. He found it about to fall, held it and tied it around Kusum's waist, thinking it was Kumud. He realized his blunder when the latter turned to him. He went away embarrassed.
During the aarti, Kumud ignored Saras and left the aarti plate with Kumari. All night she avoided him. Finally when he went to her on the terrace, he coerced her to say what was wrong. Kumud refused to talk about it and left, leaving Saras worried.
Later the family had gathered in the yard to celebrate. Dugbaa came to bless Saras and Kumud. Suddenly, amidst the firecrackers, Kumud started feeling uneasy. Her traumatic experiences in Pramad's hand and how he was pushing her into that fire to kill her came back to haunt her again.
Unable to stand there, she rushed inside. A worried Saras followed her, calling her but she would not stop. Finally he managed to grab her but she turned hysterical imagining it was Pramad!! She started shouting for help and calling Saras.
Look at me Kumud! Everything is fine. Everything is beautiful. There is no fire..It's only the firecrackers.
Saras' voice finally reached her ears. She broke down again in his arms and a worried Saras took her in his warmth to calm her down.
Precap: Kumud is telling Saras to move on and never look back!! She moves away and Saras looks on completely devastated.
The reason this HAS to be the scene of the Week is the sweetness of this gesture itself. The way Kusum stops Danny with her pinky finger..the way Danny looks back and sits besides her...I am here..going no where...and then just the two of them...Danny not speaking a word, and the concern written all over his face..It was not only a cute scene..but something I would love to tell the CVs that they have benchmarked and a word to the wise...Dont change it...Make Kusum realize that Saras might be her saviour in person, but it is Danny she seeks when she is alone and desolate!! The one who actually keeps her demons at bay!!
