I am back with an update.. Hope you all like it.
Chapter 8In was 23.55 pm and only 5 minutes were left for their birthday so she got up from the bed.. She took her mobile phone with her and moved toward the balcony to call Arnav. Arnav who was near the balcony door of her room saw the room opening so he hid behind the chair placed there.. Khushi was trying Arnav's number continuously but his phone was switched off.. She frowned a bit and started murmuring.. She was scolding Arnav under her breath for keeping the phone off unknown to the fact that the person about whom she was complaining is right behind her.. Arnav felt like laughing out loud hearing her complain but he couldn't do that.. He checked the time and it was 23.59 by then so he got up from his hiding place and made his way towards Khushi who was still talking with herself..
The clock striked 12 and Arnav who was just behind Khushi kept his hand on her shoulder and whispered "Happy Birthday sweetie" into her ears.. Khushi who was in some other world came out of her of thoghts with a jerk because of that familiar voice.. She was shocked, surprised and what not at that time.. She was still facing her back to him but she was sure it was Arnav.. What she couldn't figure out was whether it was for real or she was just dreaming.. She turned back and saw her best friend smiling at her.. She was still confused and just kept on staring at him.. Arnav was expecting some reaction from her end but there his crazy best friend was just staring at him like she had seen some alien from outer space.. He waited for another two minutes but as there was still no response form her sp he shook her and said.. " Oye heroine aaj mera bhi birthday hai yaar wish nahi karegi??" [ it's my birthday too today, wont you wish me? ]
Khushi who was now sure that she was not dreaming jumped in for a hug.. After sometime she remembered that he was actually there means he was kidding her from days saying that he'd not be coming there so she pulled out from the hug and started hitting him.. Arnav just kept on smiling and looking at her as he was waiting for this day and those reactions and expression on her face from many days.. After some time Khushi herself stopped hitting him and again hugged him tight and wished him birthday.. Their happiness had no limits at that moment. They felt blessed but they were having some different feeling too.. The touches and hugs felt different.. After some time they pulled back of their hug..
Khushi: tujhe ana ni thattoh bataya kyun nai?? [ if you were coming then why didn't you tell me this before? ] I was feeling so bad thinking I needed to spend this day without you..
Arnav: agar bata diya hota toh [ if i would have said this forehand ] would this happiness be there on your face?? No na?
Khushi: woh toh hai.. Ab bata where's my gift?? [ this is true. now tell me where's my gift ]
Arnav: gift?? Mai tere saamne khada hoon.. [ i am here myself infront of you ] Isn't that enough?? I thought this would be the best surprise and gift.. ( he said dramatically)
Khushi: yeh gift toh accha tha lekin tu sach me mere liye aur kuch nahi laya?? [ this was a nice gift but is this my only gift?? haven't you got anything else for me? ]
Arnav: laya hoon na but those are not your birthday gift.. Those are just the random gifts..
Khushi: chalega because no other gift is better than the one you just gave me... this surprise.. (she said side hugging him)
Arnav: I know that.. Yeh sab chod.. Ab yeh bata ki where's my gift??[ leave all this and tell me where's my gift? ]
Khushi: hai na.. andar hai.. Chal dikhati hoon.. [ it's inside.. come i'll show you ]( she said dragging him to her room)
She made Arnav sit on her bed and she moved towards her study table and took a wrapped box out of her bag..
Khushi: socha tha I'd courier you this at the evening but the office was closed so couldn't do that..
Arnav: that's good na.. Nahi toh I'd be here and the gift would be there and tujhe mere liye dushra gift lena padta.. Ab dikha kya hai. [ if not i'd be here and the gift would have reached there and you would have to get another gift for me.. Now will you please show what it is ]
Khushi: le khud hi dekh le. I'm sure u know what is there inside it as I always gift u the same..
Arnav: ha pata hai..[ yea i know ]
He opened the box and saw a wallet at the top and watch below it and smiled seeing it.. Arnav had collection of watches and wallets and Khushi used to add one to his collection every year and it seemed as if he kept those collections only to show others as he always used the ones gifted by Khushi. Khushi then took the wallet and showed him the picture she had kept inside it.. It was their favorite photo.. Arnav saw that and thought of teasing her..
Arnav: you know na Khushi, people keep the photo of their life partners at that section not of their best friend..
Khushi: I knw that Arnav but lemme tell u something... that section in your purse will always be mine and for our pic and not for your life partner.. You don't have a girlfriend at this moment but I'm saying you that section will always be reserved for me and even after you get your partner that section will be mine you get that...( she said in a commanding voice)
Arnav: umm thik hai..
Khushi: chal ab woh t-shirt bhi dekh le.. [ now see that t-shirt as well ]
Arnav: there's a t-shirt too?? I thoght this year also you'll be giving me watch and wallet.. T-shirt ki kya jaroorat thi?? [ what was the need of the t-shirt? ]
Khushi: I dont know.. I felt like giving you something else too.. Maine order deke design karwaii hai.. Hope you like it but it doesn't really matter.. I like it a lot and I'll surely make you wear it even if you dont like that so you better like that..
Arnav: arre gift bhi black mail karke deti hai yaar.. My best friend is really crazy!!
Arnav opened the t-shirt and saw it.. It was a grey t-shirt which the picture of tom and jerry printed on it and below it written "EVEN IF WE FIGHT, WE ARE THE BEST OF FRIEND AND WILL ALWAYS REMAIN THE SAME :)" ... Both Arnav and Khushi loved tom and jerry so she had specially ordered for that t-shirt with that sweet little text at the end.. Arnav liked that very much.. Khushi then said him that she had one exactly like that too..
She was still standing so Arnav also stood up from the bed and went towards her.. He then held her by her hand and made her walk toward the dressing table.. He positioned her before the dressing table making her face the mirror and said her to close her eyes.. She did as she was asked.. He then took out her gift from his pocket and opened the box.. She could hear some noises so she asked him what he was doing to which he replied by just hushing her so she decided to stay quiet and let him continue with what he was doing.. He took the chain out of that box and made her wear it by his own and then asked her to open her eyes.. When she opened her eyes she saw a beautiful silver chain on her neck with a simple pearl pendant..
That was something which he had bought on his own by his own money which he had saved from his pocket money and had earned. Arnav used to sing songs at a club in London at weekends to collect some money on his own to buy her a gift.. As he was very good at his voice and playing the musical instruments he was able to earn a good sum of money.. He said Khushi this and she was very happy and touched and surely had some tears in her eyes.. She was just seeing how he was explaining her how he wanted to gift her something on his own and she was just proud to have a guy like him in her life...
Arnav noticed her moist eyes and he could see how happy she was without her saying anything.. So he just kissed her on the tip of her nose.. This was not the first time he had kissed her but this time it felt different.. They both felt something which they had never felt in all these years.. The touches, hugs, kisses and the whole feeling was something new to them but they thought they are feeling so due to the distance of those 10 months.. Khushi was blushing hard at that moment and that didn't go unnoticed by Arnav.. Her flushed face made her look beautiful and he felt something more deep down his heart... He felt like she was his beautiful possession and was proud for having her so he just took her into a warm embrace and after some time Arnav went to his room as he was very tired and they had a very hectic day the next day...
