Sushmita Sen - arrogant or classy?

So, I was watching Sushmita's interview on Koffee with Karan today and I found myself getting quite irritated with her. I usually consider her to be a very well-spoken and classy woman but for some reason, she struck me as childish and almost desperate in this interview. She hardly let poor Sanjay Dutt talk (watch from 17:44 for a perfect example of this) and she constantly tried to inject herself into the conversation even when questions weren't directed at her (instances of this are at 13:30, 14:45, and several others). I got the sense that even Karan got a little irritated 😆 because she would give long-winded explanations to everything without being asked. Ultimately, Sushmita struck me as someone who just likes to hear herself talk.

What do you guys think?

See I find her classy b/c when she's talking for a cause she sounds well-learnt and uses proper but clear language and speaks with warmth.

I don't know about her earlier interviews but her recent/latter ones, she quite calm, composed and sounds intelligent.

Let's remember that KWK is a different aura altogether. He expects them to "act" or "behave" in a certain demeanor. It's suppose to be racy and scandalous and so Sush seems to be trying to hard. But I don't find her "arrogant" perse in other interviews. Like Aish is clearly not made for a KWK show, while Sonam, Parineeti and Kareena totally are.😆 I personally love Vidya and Lara the most b/c they are ALWAYS the same--be it KWK or Anupama or other places. Very smart and witty women but a bit raunchier on KWK.

Karan gets tired when ppl talk on and on and don't play but his rules. He was pretty peeved with Abhi too b/c he kept explaining his answers. 😆

I guess I'm just not a huge Sush fan. I can see how she comes across as classy when promoting a cause but more often than not, she strikes me as pretentious.

But Lara, oh my god. I am SUCH a huge fan of that girl because of her wicked sense of humor. She's literally had me in splits in all her KWK interviews.

Always found her very pretentious, for some reason! She tries to portray the image of being someone very different and a cut above bollywood...but is just as ordinary or normal as any other bolly star!

I remember a very old incident...when both Sush and Aishwarya had won the Ms. Universe and Ms. World titles and had been invited to Femina Magazine for an interview together. One of the staff had commented later on, that while Ash was the epitome of grace and humility (despite being much more popular than Sush, even though she lost out Ms. India title), Sush kept throwing her weight around, till Satya Saran (the then editor of Femina) lost her cool and told her to stay grounded.

She is an excellent orator and speaks really well (she was head girl of her school and a champion debator etc...I think this just comes naturally to her!), but somehow doesn't come across as very genuine!

You hit the nail right on the head poppy. I knew I didn't like Sush very much but I couldn't quite pinpoint why 😆. But you're exactly right; it's the lack of humility. She constantly strikes me as someone who believes her opinions are more valuable than others and that everyone else should be listening to what she has to say.

I think she is over loved on IF because she lost out to someone who is much hated here.

Anyways, I don't think she is perfect, she does come across as pretentious but I don't mind because in this industry no one is 100% real
