@DG - Agree with you!
Raghu calls her maayi and Satya aayi, thats the difference.

A motherless Raghu was reduced to live on the streets was picked by this woman and she placed her hand on his head. He understands the importance of that, she have given him an identity and nurtured him. I think he placed her on a pedestal because he understands the debt that they share. He understands the difference and i feel he never saw a motherly figure in her, just someone who saved him from a life of hunger and streets , hence she is his GOD .

I am just glad he is aware of this fact, it makes him going against DM pretty natural!

He does call her his God doesn't he? and yes soon she is going to fall of her pedestal and he will realise she is nothing but a self serving woman. What a pity. If she had genuinely shown him an inch of motherly love he would have give her the world.

Hi Miss Bennet😊 (which are you then - Jane, Elizabeth or Lydia?😉😆)

Yes I would say go and watch them. They aren't very coherent nor smooth but gives you a picture of things to come.

And of course has some Rantara sweet moments, always worth watching!

I'd be Lizzie, so I can have my Mr.Darcy!😆

But, I think I am more a mix of Jane and Lizzie. No Lydia, Mary or Kitty 😆

In my mind Mary and Kitty do not even come into the equation!😃

Let me thank you on behalf of all the girls here that you are staying true to Mr Darcy rather than chasing after Raghunath Naik!!😆😆😉

As you are interested in P&P, have you read the modern retelling of some of JA books? two of my chapter mates write them. One of them, Juliet Archer did a modern re-telling of Emma and my all time fave, Persuasion, her title is 'Persuade Me'. The other author is Monica Fairview.

HI CG,

Same for you if you are interested in checking those books out. Another author who does re-telling is Amanda Grange, but here's do veer off a bit...I think in one of them Mr Darcy is a vampire, in another..an alien (or I could be thinking of another author).

This brings to mind that when Rantara first met, it was similar to Pride and Prejudice. He had pride in himself as the Bhai of the Basti and she had too much prejudice because she took one look at him (albeit his actions!😆) and thought two bit gunda!!

So I guess our Rantara could be Lizzie and Darcy!😉😆😆
