Women will rule the industry in the next ten years: SRK
Shah Rukh Khan More Pics
After ensuring that the actress' name comes first in the credit roles, Shah Rukh Khan will now incorporate the same in award shows next year. His recent blockbuster, 'Chennai Express', ensured that actress Deepika Padukone's name came before his name, in the credit roles.

When asked if he wanted to do the same in the award shows, SRK said, "I think they should do it. I am hosting an award show next year and I will ensure that the best actress award should be saved for the last. It is a nice thing. Hindi films, and films at large, are a little patriarchal. But don't worry. It will change in the next ten years. Women will rule."

Director and good friend R Balki's Tata Tea ad was inspirational for SRK to put Deepika's name in the beginning of the film. "Balki had made that ad for Tata Tea and I got the idea. SinceChennai Express is our film, I could take the call. We will do the same thing with Farah's Happy New Year," he added.

I think he secretly means he will be wealthy and retired by then and won't have to deal with it 😆😆

I think there is a slow change towards women getting more recognition. Vidya Balan's TDP wouldn't have worked 10-20 years ago and definitely wouldn't have received the same critical recognition. If anything, it would have been labelled as cheap and sleazy. But at the same time, the "massy" Indian audience still appreciates movies where women are just there to add glamour. But I really do hope that the Indian mentality changes. It's so wrong to see people call Madhuri Dixit "old" but have no issues with other mid-40 actors romancing girls half their age.

I hope the change is more rapid than that. 10 years in today's time is still considered WAY too LONG!

Well...a bit will be the reality...but not completely. Not all actors are like you, who aren't insecure of their heroines dear...anyway, but I guess 50 years may do it.
