Apart from her natural affinity towards Jagya, there might have been other reasons.
However angry and upset DS and sumitra were, they would never wish to see Jagya behind bars. If anandi did file a suit, there would have been suppressed anger against her throughout and she would have lost their full hearted support.

Why anandi did not want to pursue medicine? DS and Sumitra never wanted Jagya to go away for years even to pursue higher education. Why they will approve if she went away for years leaving them with no support system? For all their outward support, anandi must have guessed what their inner feelings were like. Listening to gauri was just an excuse.

Now anandi was bold enough to go against Shiv and family and gave statement in support of Jagya which is against her basic nature of supporting sasural. Anandi still holds her original sasural as her true sasural and this new one a fake sasural. Of course her love for Shiv is genuine.Anandi could have refused to give any statement at all to favour her new sasural but she did not do it.

- Anandi did not file case against Jagya only because of DS. DS was wide eyed and breathless whenever issues related to JaAn divorce, Anandi's remarriage or disowning Jagya would come up. For a long time she waited and kept thinking Jagya would realise his "mistake" and come back to BH and Anandi. Anandi knew of people's feelings so she avoided filing case against Jagya.

- Anandi did not pursue medicine because it was not her goal! Gauri etc. are no reasons. Her goal was always to become a teacher. Later when she suffered due to child marriage, she wanted to do something to help other girls. It evolved gradually. From teaching girls, to teaching elders (because girls had no say and elders still prevailed).
Sarpanch she became at insistence of people - be it existing members of Panchayat, or people from her classes.

- Anandi told truth. This was not about real sasural or fake sasural. She kept giving them chances throughout. When things crossed limit she put her foot down.
This was made a matter of sasural/maayka by Ira who wanted to blackmail and pressurise Anandi. And by CVs.

Otherwise anyone can see Sanchi is a liar and useless.

Also I think NO ONE has the right to use her past or her family's past for their own ends. If Shiv was so concerned about punishing Jagya due to his past he should have done it when there were other opportunities for him. Why did he remain silent then?! To prove how great he was , to Singhs?

Abetment to suicide was a fake charge.

And breaking of engagement? Is it a criminal offense? Punishable by law?

Even if Anandi speaks about Jagya's past still she will have to add how he changed.

Anandi is smart because she keeps giving chances to everyone. She tries to make people realise or think for themselves. She avoids public fights or courtroom dramas.

It's not just Jagya. She won't say anything against Shekhars or Sanchi too. She'll forgive them.

Anandi precisely avoided going to court earlier and still insisted on it because going to court means no middle way or alternative solution can be worked out. Otherwise solutions can be worked out.

In court this time, she said nothing wrong. She answered the question as it exactly was.

Anandi has handled all kinds of people. She may remain silent but she observes everything. She has been Sarpanch and handled chauvinistic sarpanches from other villages also. She knows what to do.

If someone thinks they can blackmail her or expect her to favour them just because they are family then they are wrong.

If she considered only Singhs as her real family then she wouldn't have taken the decision which she did as Sarpanch.

As far as loyalty is concerned, she has nothing to prove to anyone. People have to see for themselves how loyal she has been or not towards them.

I think it is working both ways.

A person cant be expected to change like chameleon.

One day singhs are her sasra.
And now shekhars are her sasra.

It takes time to accept.
Just the way she did not accept shiv for some days. and was thinking about Jagya.

Accepting shiv wholeheartedly was her first step. Because he gave her space and never forced himself.

accepting the second sasural would have been easy if Ira and sanchi were as understanding as shiv and CM.

Adjusting is like long distance international travel. Jetlag for days together. One does not know whether it is day or night. Sleep time or not.

Anandi is smart because she is honest. the fall comes when you lie. if anandi lied and took sanchi side she would have lost her old family forever. Anandi always goes by the rule the the truth always comes out, some time or an other the sanchi truth would come out, and even if shiv and his family were angry with her they would forgive her and accept her with open arms once they knew the truth.

I dun think she wears a false mask on her face, she just supports the truth regardless of what...
