Hey guys,

I am talking about food again. Sorry!

Just wanted to let you know Akbar's favorite dish was Kichdi (rice pudding) with yogurt. He was not a big meat eater, but more into fruits and vegetables. If had particular days where he wouldn't eat meat. Peta would have loved him lol...oh he also banned cow slaughter.

He use to send his workers or whatever you want to call them to the mountains to get him ice for his Sherbert drink. Akbar's kitchen consisted of about 200 chefs-both Mughals and Hindus. Both groups mixed recipes and created an Indo-Mughual fusion which is now prevalent in Indian Cuisine as mentioned in my other post about food.

Oooh nice!

Akbar was truly a very very different Mughal Emperor. ❤️

He was inordinately lovely towards his animal companions & yes, he had a gift for taming irate haathi-phants. 😳

khichdi are of many types

rice pudding is kheer...

khichdi is the dish which is made up of rice and daal

like
green moong daal ki khuchdi..simple to made n my favorite too
kaali urad ki khichri
laal masoor ki khichri
and chana daal khichdi...called kabooli

That's why is Akbar the Great😛

I adore individuals who adore animals. I love animals, I wanted my dad to take me to the zoo after my college graduation LOL

Yes, rice pudding is kheer I got confused with the "k" letter thing. Kitchdi the daal kind as you mentioned above. That book didn't mention which kind he liked but his favorite dish was Kitchidi. Lol I only eat that when I have stomachache or-am ill-usually the moong, and yellow kitchidi for me 😊 so did you already prepare it for me Ms. Sara :)
