Mamis we the women think last aboout our dignity. How many times Nahar walked out on Saloni even though it wasn't her fault many times. It is male oriented society. When we are young we are told what to do by our fathers, then husbands and later children. As if we do not have any sense.

Some times you get angry with your mom don't you say something to her you later regret and say sorry.

She still loves you and forgives you. Did not she loose self respect? We the women are called next to god(moms) because we easily forgive and forget and think last about our self respect or dignity.I hope I proved my point.

Maybe there are some women who take their dignity for granted but I do not think last about my dignity. That is how my sister and myself are taught from the very beginning. I agree its a male-oriented society, but i think women of today should work at making it a male and women oriented society. Most of the time i think it is the women who make it a male-oriented society by just taking all the abuse and losing thier dignity. Yes my parents tell me what is right and wrong and that is what they are supposed to do, cuz I'm at an age where guidance is required. But husbands cannot order you around, just like I would not like to order him around. Parents and husbands are very different ppl... parents are supposed to be guiding you, as where husbands and wives are supposed to be equal. After we grow up and get married we have already been moulded by our parents to be good human beings and wives. Its not fair for women be treated like Saloni.

I'm much younger to you Rakshadi, and maybe I've overstepped here, but I just hate it when women are treated and doubted for no fault of thiers. It breaks my heart to see what Saloni is going thru, and for what? I get very emotional when I see Betiyaan and the treatment of women there. We women need to prove that we are equal and nothing less or nothing more.

No kruthi you have not overstepped and you are 100% right. exactly my thinking when I was your age and I had seen my mom suffered so much by others not my dad by my grand ma and my relatives and I stood up for her. I decided to come to US thinking my husband will be so broad minded and no one will step over me. How wrong I was. My self respect was lost billion times not only by my husbnad but his bro, sisters and all I did was cry like Saloni did. I was cornered and surorunded by them(my fault too) I brought them here. With no one to help but one friend. Then She asked me to go back to college and I did that and then after my son was born I started fighting for mine and his right. As they were robbing us like anything and treating me like a dirt. Imagine living with 3 kaveri likes and Dheer. I did.

Kruthi I was like a tomboy no one could tell me anything. But then when you are cornered everything goes. Your self respect your dignity. Kruthi don't think I am alone here. I have many stories about other well educated Indian women too.

When you are young you have certain ideas and you think life will go certain way. But when your spouse only think that his family(his siblings and parents) are most important and always right then there is nothing you can do. How can you change a person with close mind.? All the ideals go in the real world.

I mean why Saloni had to prove her self. Nahar does not care to prove that he has no relation with devika. He even brought her home. Nahar kicked out yug suspecting thier relation. Do you get the point. See how khurana lady treat's raji's parents in Mayka an in betiyan how bhvishya treats Saraswati and his mother also says her to hide her wound. They even know that she is from very powerful famiily. but does that stop them from abusing her? Same with vidya and mamta. All the zee serial shows women suffering. but do any one oppose.

yes they have institutions against these thing and laws. But many times women just suffer and do not report like saraswati they are worried more for their family prestige and not for their safety or self respect.

You are much experienced than me and understand your views through past experiences. Its so scary that you had actually to live with ppl like Kaveri and Dheer. I'm so glad you are over all that now. I totally understand when you said....

I just hope that times change by the time I get married 😊 Its so unfair 😭 your example of Sarawati suffering at her in-laws is so true. I was like...after she was bashed up by bhavishya why shud she go back..even if he is ready to apologise..he shud not be forgiven for what he did. You are right...in all the serials they show the women taking all the abuse and saying nothing. I hope atleast Saloni makes Nahar suffer atleast a little more b4 she comes back to him. He needs to understand her value.
