Her beauty is flawless. She looks like she was made to enchant every man on earth. You'd think there was a gargantuan effort behind making her seem as ethereal as she often does. But Katrina Kaif has a bohemian outlook towards her personal style. She doesn't bother sticking to the Harry Winstons and Bvlgaris of the jewellery world. She throws on costume jewellery from the street markets of South Africa. And she pulls it off with panache. Katrina has her own inimitable fashion sense. And that's exactly what works wonders for her. She's been called jhalli' by her friends, she's been asked to amp up the designer quotient, but Katrina believes true beauty lies in simplicity. She plays it cool most of the time. But like any other lady on the planet, she has a weakness for diamonds. Read on to discover what's truly glittering in Katrina's jewellery box.

Less is more
In day to day life, I don't really wear any jewellery. But when I attend an event I have a performance, I prefer wearing something light and not overbearing. It's more about comfort than anything else.

Rich yes, riches no
Surprisingly, I don't own much jewellery, at least when compared to most people. Jewellery as an investment is an Indian concept and since my upbringing has been more British than Indian, that gene is a bit weak!

Costume vs real

I wouldn't risk wearing expensive real jewellery for a performance where I know there's a chance of something falling off. I am associated with the brand Nakshatra and also have some jeweller friends who are gracious enough to let me showcase their creativity at public appearances.

Memorable mementos
When I was 17, I bought a simple and an inexpensive bracelet for my mother with the money I'd made from an advertising job. What I cherish more is the silver chain with a silver cross that my mother bought me when I was eight. During my next trip back home, I'll definitely browse through my grandmother's collection and pick
up a souvenir of an ornament!

Jhalli ' me
I have been told by friends that I dress like a jhalli' unless it's a big event. Karan Johar says I should hire a personal stylist who will put together stuff and accessories by stepping out of the house'. I tend to believe in my comfort more than following what's in style.

Work wear
Work invariably means shooting of some sort. There I have a designated costume and look, which I wouldn't have much of a say in. I do however try to wear clothes and jewellery that complement me.

Travel souvenirs
When I travelled to South Africa for Race and Welcome, we picked up some beautiful local handcrafted costume/semi precious jewellery for the shoot there. They were unique and beautiful.

Valuable tip
Remember all you jewellery enthusiasts! Buy from reliable jewellers where you are guaranteed quality and value for money. There are several such options; Gitanjali being one of them. It's trusted implicitly for its quality. And unless it is purely an investment, I'd suggest you buy something that complements you rather than buying because it is the latest style' or something your neighbour has bought.

Vintage wins
Nothing can take over vintage and traditional designs! The new trend is commendable because it is traditional yet redesigned using modern techniques making the pieces lighter and wearable. A beautiful blend!

Diamond dazzle
White gold and silver go well with Western wear while yellow gold goes better with Indian bridal outfits. But generally, I don't like too many colours. So diamonds are my preferred choice of stones. I haven't really gone jewellery shopping but Nakshatra has a fine range of beautiful diamond pieces. So, I guess that would be one of the places I'd shop at.

I am so much like her on the jewellery front.
I rarely wear jewellery and when I do then it has to be something very simple and unique and most importantly it has to be white or silver NO GOLD I dislike gold it mostly looks tacky 😆

have to agree with her about simplicity, that is what makes one beautiful

She has an aura and face that is so gorgeous that simplicity suits her. She looks good without too much jewelry or nice delicate things b/c her neckline is so long.

Yeah her interviews can be boring but I think you know what you're getting...she's a private person and doesn't talk shit about people so won't be finding that find of masala.

Hai Moco! I checked out those Thai Lakorns. But I'm so dissapointed. It completely sucks. Those Lakorns are like our hindi movie...songs, fights, a lame comedian...it reminded me of those masala movies of the 90's. And now it would probably remind me of Sajid Khan's movies. I HATE THOSE JOKER MOVIES so it's not surprising I also hate those lakorns. I do love thai movies 😳...but those dramas 🤢 I'll stick to korean and japanese 😊

Shalom Moco

p.s. It's not surprising you like Kaif as you're a Rai fan too. BUT she's only a private person because of her past. If she wasn't part of that cult she would have talked as much as Parineeti and your Aishu aunty do.
