past"so you think you are in love?" mohinder handa asked in a grim tone
"yes" geet replied, her voice determined
"and you want to marry him, shall i assume so?"
"yes" geet replied
"and i think you are a fool, cant you see that sc** ba* is after your money, he is a nobody, a manager in a small firm and offcourse he dreams high, since he has got you to fend for him and please dont give me the cra* that he is a man of principles and not after my wealth blah blah so and so forth. all i can say is you have disappointed me big time and i thought you had more of my genes and less of your mum's but then i was mistaken. not only are a mirror image of your mum externally but in your choice of man you have outdone her. atleast she had chosen a man with vineyards but you have chosen somebody straight from the gutter. look at your audacity you actually came here to ask for my consent! that will never happen geet and i would never let you make such a grave mistake so you are grounded till i find you a suitable match" mohinder handa said with finality
geet winced at her father's words, they were reeling somewhere in her subconcious along with the faint memories of her mother in all the video footages from her childhood, she was not there with her for long just a year yet she too couldn't deny the striking resemblance she held with her. the fact that her mother had deserted them had never actually synced in to her, it pained to know that she didn't even think of her daughter. in all the videos her mother appeared to be sweet and lovely, cooing to her, singing her nursery rhymes, putting her to sleep, bathing her yet she had left her and that somewhere made her father bitter. theirs was a love marriage, a marriage where love withered with time. geet initially had vowed never to get married, she had always kept safe distance from men, especially those who she felt tried to come upon her but when maan came her walls the ones that she had built over the years , that seemed impenetrable and had won her the tittle of ice princess from all the men of her society she just swayed with the wind and in no time was she in love and now her father was denying her love. but she was determined not to let that happen, enough of being the good daughter, the gracious hostess, the patient listener, enough of living for others now she'll live for herself, her maan and their baby.
'mr mohinder handa i think you are forgetting that i have turned 18 and the law of the nation allows me to take my own decision and stand for myself, so if you try to restrain me forcefully i would have to report to the police" geet thundered
geet's tone, her stance was appalling to mr handa who couldn't believe that her closest ally had turned mutinous, his geet, sweet, soft, gullible and always obedient. he just couldn't believe his own ears but it was true and he knew in geet's state of mind right now an argument wouldn't just be right. he knew his daughter only too well even in her silence,in her obedience she was a girl of firm principles just like him and wouldn't put down her arms even if she had to face the gallows, though she resembled her mother in her appearance yet she was so much like him in other ways and he knew that only too well.
"very well, you can call your maan here, i would like to speak to him" he replied
"dad i know you well, if you think that you couldn't bend me but are going to have your own with maan then let me tell you that dont even bother and let me give you a piece of information you are gonna be a grandad, am pregnant" with that geet stomped her foot and left.
mr handa who had been standing straight all the while now took to the large oak wood study table for support and finally slumped on the chair. he now sat defeated, defeated by his own scion his geet. a single drop of tear slipped from his eyes and he shut them tight and he vowed, vowed for destruction.
i thought it was a fairytale
a tale of love
everywhere that i saw
i could see my love blossoming
it all seemed so heavenly
it all seemed so beautiful
i basked in your love
you thrived on mine
together we were in our world of love
a world devoid of malice
devoid of jealousy
devoid of any evils
a world of our dreams
paradise
so it seemed
but it always isn't the way you imagine
sometimes when everything seems right
all is not well
and so it wasn't...
it all fell
crumbled
all i saw was
i lay in shambles
our love broken
shattered
finished
it all finished
in a jiffy
and i couldn't do anything...

geet was till in maan's arm and he was still soothing her yet there were too many questions reeling in his head, regarding their baby, their tamanna. geet had gone silent, her trauma had been greater than his, she had to brave all the storms all on her own but then the question that lingered in the air was where was their tamanna?
"how was she?" maan asked, his voice sounded heavy and hoarse
"was?" geet appeared puzzled why was maan addressing their daughter as was?
"maan you should be asking how is she?" geet replied, a trifle too irritated, that maan actually referred to their daughter as if she didn't exist.
now it was maan's turn to be shocked.
geet felt maan stiffening, his arms that were around her went tight and she could feel the abnormality in his reaction and once she lifted her head up and their eyes met she knew that something was wrong and at the same time the words, rather the impending question came hurtling,
"maan why did you not come to see us? i know my father had been wrong, he plotted against our love but your daughter, our daughter needed you, yet tou didn't come, did your ego become so big that you neglected your own baby" she asked, her eyes reflecting pain and hurt as if complaining to maan
maan appeared thunder struck and the words came out in meek whisper, "i was made to believe that the baby was dead"

first things first i would like to thank all my readers for their wonderful comments and likes, i love reading your comments and the likes seems like cherry with icing on top so thank you so much and loads of love from my side. again due to time constraint i cannot reply to each of you personally otherwise i would have please forgive me. the last week kept me busy with durga puja, for those of you who are eagerly waiting for in love with my jiju, i know the update has not come in a long while but i promise it'll come soon, may be on monday itself a few final touches are left and for bloodline it'll follow right after jiju, till then enjoy divorces and do let me know about the update, i would be waiting eagerly for the response.
