'No Singer Can Surpass Sonu Nigam' says Abida Parveen

"No singer has been born in Pakistan or in India in recent times that could surpass the talent of Sonu Nigam," says Pakistani Sufi singer Abida Parveen. And it goes without saying that Sonu has been gushing-with-pride since then. It was during his recent performance at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall that as soon as Sonu came down after performing, Abida Parveen went back stage and complimented him. Sonu touched her feet and felt blessed as he himself said, "Abida ji is one of the finest Sufi singers he has heard and getting a compliment from her was a blessing."

hmmm yap he is best singer of all time :) only singer who can even sing live better den studio versions :D recently Udit narayan ji had tear in his eyes after Sonu sang a classical song Bawri Piya Ki here u can see dat :)

yup agree!!!! sonu has best bolly voice & grt in classical too... its bolly loss tht he doesnt sing for movie songs anymore,, all his songs r blockbusters n v impactful!!!

nope he is and no doubt on it :P he is the one singer who have sunged almost in every genre with perfection ...be it Ghazals, qawali, classical, semi calssical, romantic,sad , sufi , hi pitch , low pitch , westren english :P non of his Contemporary have shown such versatility 😊 dat is the reason abida parveen je have said no one can surpass him

Can anybody tell me why he doesn't sing in BW anymore? Did he have a fallout with producers, or did he start concentrating too much on shows/international collaborations/tours or did he just get replaced owing to new singers?

he said he have done enough of work as playback he is been busy with concerts round the clock and in 2014 he is having a world tour as well :)...Sonu said he will work only if he offered good songs like Abhi Mujh Main Kahin from Agnepath which made him won many awards in 2013...:P :P 😊.actually now a days technology have been developed so much a non singer can sing with the help of Melodyne and Antreas pitch correcting softwares dats the reason Today its absolutely easy for producers have an average singer n get his vocals tweeked by a good soundt technician with these software - that the way they safe their money on the backs of the artists...:P i can bet these new singers can not perform live as i have seen ankit tiwari recently he wasn't able to sing his own Sun raha hai na tu song :P :P its just because of lack of Reyaaz 😊

Sonu Nigam can't surpass legends like K.L.Saigal and Jagjit Singh. if One Abida Parveen thinks doesn't mean the whole world thinks the same.
