Tera intezaar hai…
Aja…
Suna suna… lamha lamha…
Meri raahein… tanha tanha.
Translation:
This love is like a monsoon, sometimes it pours, and then sweeps away…
Arriving at destiny's doorstep, suddenly the direction loses its course.
This riddle of love no one has been able to solve…
Obtained or not… Continuously grows my obsession.
The presence of this love shall never lessen…
Without it… nothing shall exist…
An endless stream of love flows…
Come…
These eyes await only you…
Come…
Each moment passes in vacancy…
My paths are plagued by loneliness.
Jai:
"Kuch rang aise hote hain Bani, joh mitaane se bhi nahin mite. Pyar ke rang.... Meri wajase aaj tumhaare chehre pe muskaan toh ayi. Tumhaari is muskaan ke liye, main aise hazaaron rang mein rang sakta hoon."
(Bani, some colours are inextinguishable. The colours of love... Because of me, at least a smile played upon your lips. For your one smile, I am willing to colour myself in countless colours.)
Implication:
I think today's lyrics were just a reflection on the sweet-bitterness and dynamics of a love so deep, as shared by our Jn'B, mostly from Jai's POV (lately he's been so philosophical -- love it!). Haldi is considered a "shagun" indicator in Indian culture, and it just seemed to be performing that task today... Showering the colours of love. The first part of the lyrics talks about the uncertainty of the course of love, how in one minute you can feel as though you're in the arms of destiny, when in another it is like it was all a dream. Jn'B's situation is so similar. They know they both deeply care for each other and in Jai's style, "emersed in the colours of each other's love", but an unpleasant barrier still exists. This lurking shadow weighs upon them like a bad omen and thier feet refrain from walking through the doors of fate. Despite that, there is the existence of these feelings which constantly bind them. The thread that holds them together is thinner than a hair perhaps, but it has stood the test of time and proven its inextinguishability (I don't think there is such a word, is there?😕).
Coming to Jai, the man is simply drenched in love. He is essentially willing to go to the ends of the world for Bani. From what I gather, our Lion King is set out to tame his mate at any cost!
Cheers,
