• No, we aren't quoting the enigmatic Rekha from one of her recent interviews here, but from an interview she gave way back in 1984 to a leading magazine. And, the interview proved to be one of those rare gems that have been pulled put of the closet now, when India's biggest superstar, Amitabh Bachchan is about to turn 71. The actor, who incidentally celebrates his birthday a day after the birthday of Bollywood's most mysterious actress- Rekha, was incidentally linked to the diva years back.
  The much speculated interview in question raised quite a few eyebrows, as it had some rather candid confessions by Rekha, on her favourite man -Amitabh. When quizzed about Amitabh denying the affair, Rekha had reporteldy said, "Why should he have not done it? He did it to protect his image, his family, his children. I think it is beautiful. I don't care what the public thinks of it. Why should the public know of my love for him or his love for me?"

    Well, that wasn't all! Apparently, she had professed her love for the actor by saying, "I love him he loves me - that's it! I don't care what anybody thinks. If he would have reacted to me like that in private I would have been very disappointed. But has he ever done that? I ask you. So why should I care about what he has said in public. Not that he has 10 rollicking affairs! Mr. Bachchan is still old-fashioned. he doesn't want to hurt anybody. So why hurt his wife?"

    The actress had signed off then, by concluding, "We are human beings who love and accept each other for what we are. There's more happiness in our lives than misery. Nothing else matters. But as long as I'm with that person I don't care."

It seems like one of the pilots of the plane clicked a picture with Big B and Rekha was spotted relaxing in the seat right behind the superstar.
