'Dhoom 3' promotions sans Aamir Khan?

That Aamir Khan is a marketing guru when it comes to film promotion is a hard fact to dismiss. One need only look at the innovative ways he has promoted his previous movies to see that he is no man to conform. However, in a turn for the books, Khan has decided to opt out of such activities for his forthcoming action flick, Dhoom 3.

The film, which is the third offering of the franchise, will be releasing in December. Promotions will soon kick off but Khan will be staying away. In fact, Khan wants his work and movie to do all the talking and feels that a star that is seen promoting everywhere puts their reputation as stake somewhat. Therefore, he will not be seen on reality TV shows et al.

One wonders whether the film will still gather the right excitement minus an Aamir Khan promoting it. We will have to wait and watch!

I am glad if this is indeed true! I am tired of nonsensical promotions for months these days. Takes away a lot from the movie itself. Case in example YJHd!!

I don't think so it is true at all, Aamir always promotes his film.

Maybe he's angry that, even with the perspective of being in the front, the only person shorter than him on the poster is Uday Chopra? Aamir is a great actor, but he looks kind of like the Grumpy Leprechaun in that shot.

I can't believe they couldn't make a better poster... :/ Anyway, I'm sure the movie will do fine with or without his promotion.

Aamir khan is going to promote per many articles, But he clearly stated he doesn't want people to watch his movies due to promotions but because they want to without the promotions.

I am really glad he's gonna stay away from promoting D3 excessively.
