The Gujrati Community is huge in Singapore and there is Garba and Dandiya all over the town these days...apart from the traditional Gujrati Garba songs, the only one I hear playing is Nagada...literally, everywhere!
And gosh, can Gujju's dance or what!😲 There are groups...you know mixed ones...aunties, grandmoms, young girls etc...they all dance in such perfectly choreographed steps and so flawlessly...like pro's!
Its impossible to join the dance, because if you are not trained properly in that dance form, there is no way you can keep up with the rhythm!
Now back to the topic...its so, so, so nice to see a film that celebrates a different culture than the usual Punjabi / UP thing that bollywood is obsessed with!👏
I am NOT the biggest fan of Bhansali over here, but I have to say that he represents his state and his culture with so much passion and love! Its remarkable! (And that is why, I think that HDDCS worked so well...it was a film that Bhansali knew inside out...it was a film about his own people and culture...just like RL seems to be!)
I cannot understand a word of Gujrati, but I am addicted to Mor Bani Thanghat Kare...can someone explain what it means? It is such a beautiful number!
PS: Briahna, I think the overdose of Garba numbers is only because of Navratri season🤔 I think!...and SLB for a change is playing smart because the numbers, despite being average are becoming a rage...because of the timing of their release! Lal Ishq is the best song, but if is was released now, it won't have any impact, cause its a slow number...but Nagada and Lahu Muhn are very well suited to the festive season!
PPS: Does anyone feel that Shail Hada's voice in Lahu Muhn Lag gaya sounds very similar to Suresh Wadkar?😕
