There was such a time when she actually had to think about it. But today she was happy...smiling...& dancing! It was her engagement tomorrow with arnav, her arnav. She blushed at the thought. Who would have thought that this fateful day would ever arrive? She caressed the picture she was holding. It was arnav's picture, the first one she had ever seen. And it was still with her making her remember their first ever encounter.

'Amma, I do not want to meet any guy. For god's sake, I am only 24. I don't even want to think about marriage for at least next two years! So please..' khushi tried explaining her amma but she failed this time. Emotional blackmail!

'Khushi I want to see you settled before I close my eyes forever. Can't you even do this much for this old lay?' After a lot of pestering from her mother, she had finally given in. But in her mind, she had made sure to assess the guy as per her standard.

'Please have this sweet too' Garima handed over a plate of sweets to their guest. They took it willingly. After a moment of silence, khushi broke the ice.

'Aunty, if you don't mind, can I talk to arnav for few minutes, alone. please?' she made a genuine request which arnav's mother couldn't deny. Khushi guided him towards her garden.

Beautiful, was the first thought that crossed his mind as he set his eyes on khushi. Dressed up in pink anarkali paired up with pink studs, she looked like a fresh rose. He couldn't help but admire the attractive woman in front of her.

They started off with small talk about themselves, their studies, qualifications, job, family etc. He was working in one of the top most MNC as chief accountant. He was 26& was all ready to get married.

She was a guest lecturer in a college in Delhi. She wanted to get her job life settled first & then think about marriage.

'Arnav... see I won't beat around the bush. My parents want me to get married to you because they think that you're the most eligible bachelor for me. But that is not what I think'

She waited for a while & once she got his complete attention, she continued.

'You are perfect in every way! But I want to be sure that choosing you won't be a mistake. I hope you understand me?' she asked hesitating.

'khushi, I understand your perception. I myself want to know more about you before taking our relationship to the next level.'

'Thanks a lot for understanding arnav'

And he had just smiled in response.

'Khushi, did you get your lehenga or not? Oh god these decorators haven't completed their task yet. Tomorrow is your engagement and...'

'Breathe mom, breathe. Sit here & have this glass of water first. Good & now don't worry so much. Everything is perfectly fine' khushi assured her mother who had been running since morning.

'Khushi, beta I am so happy about your marriage. I can now rest myself in peace'

'Maa, shut up! See your wish is getting fulfilled na? Now don't talk about such things ok?'

'You are happy na? I mean arnav treats my princess like one na?'

Khushi took a dramatic pause before replying 'I am the happiest. And he not only treats me like a princess, I am the queen of his heart'

'May god always shower his blessings on you'

Then her mother made her way out of her room leaving khushi with a stupid smile on her face.

Arnav & khushi had exchanged their numbers on the same day. They used to talk, share their experience about the whole day. That was how their day ended. Something, which had started of with casual night talks, now became a part of their daily routine. A day without hearing each other's voice was one of their worst day. They now even exchanged morning messages. In short, they became a part of each other's life, unknown to them. In two months of time, it seemed like they know each other since a long time.

It was khushi's birthday & she had, like always kept a small party at her home, inviting few of her close friends, of course arnav too.

Everyone left slowly but arnav stayed. He had told her that he wanted to gift her something special. He had called her to the terrace & she completely awed by the decoration. What a beauty it was!

The fairy lights illuminated the whole terrace. A small date table set in the middle of the terrace. As she walked in, rose petals fell on her. She looked up in glee.

'Arnav?' she finally called out his name, not having seen him there since past 15 mins.

'Arnav..' she called out his name with such tenderness that it made his heart skip a beat.

He guided her towards their date table. Sitting opposite her, he opened the lids of the containers & served her favorite food items. They smiled as they ate, contended with the life they had now.

After their dinner, he took her hand in his & knelt down on his knees.

'Arnav you...this...'

'Shh khushi...'

Taking out a ring from his pocket, he held it in front of her & then proposed her

'Somewhere in the middle of our conversations I fell for you khushi. I don't know what love is. If the feel of being happy in other's happiness is, then I love you khushi. If talking to that person makes you day seem brighter, than I love you khushi. I love you khushi, will you marry me?'

Khushi was shedding tears of happiness. She wiped them off & accepted his ring.

'yes my paglu, I will'

And they hugged each other, unknown to them her parents watching them, happy that their daughter had finally made the right decision.

Arnav came on panic mode as he heard khushi's panicked voice. He immediately left what he was doing & left for her terrace. He sneaked in to her room through the same way which he used to meet her at night at times.

'Arnav, come here' he heard him calling him up & he climbed up the ladders to her terrace.

'What happened khushi? are you alright? Is everything alright? Why you sounded so panicked?' he started off with his 20 questions only to see a ghost smile on her lips.

'Khushi? You were joking?' he asked unsure, but have known her for 6 months he was very well able to predict her.

'Arnav, you know I have always dreamt of a love marriage. That one day my prince charming will come & sweep me off my feet'

'Arnav, you have confessed that you love me, but did I?'

Yes, she never said those 3 magical words to him...something his ears always wanted to hear. He had always seen love in her eyes for him but she had never mouthed it. But why was she talking about this now?

'Khushi why are you talking about this now? I am sure sooner or later you will fall in love with me'

'But I don't want a marriage without me being in love'

'So I have decided to change this arrange marriage into love marriage. I love you arnav, will you marry me?'
