Sonam Kapoor one of the most influential celebrities in fashion

Sonam Kapoor has been dazzling India with her chic fashion sense and authentic style statements. Buzz is that the young glam diva has now joined the list of 500 people who influence the fashion industry.

Interestingly, this is for the first time any Indian actress has featured on this list. As a matter of fact, the survey is done by an online portal called the Business Of Fashion.

Every year there is a list drawn by BOF 500, of 500 people worldwide who build the fashion industry.

The BOF 500 is a live, visual index of these talented shapers of the global fashion industry, curated by the editors of The Business of Fashion and powered by social media.

This list consists of people from designers to entrepreneurs to behind-the-scenes catalysts, hailing from 27 countries and representing 50 different nationalities.

I think this is a very praiseworthy achievement by Sonam, she has made India proud. Sonam has a distinct sense of fashion which is necessary for a star. She may be a decent actress compared to other fantastic actresses, but no one has actually that charisma in the sense of fashion.

Sonam could have done really better as a fashion model.

500 is a lot of people... How many stars in an industry can be fashion icons? Max 50?

If she was in the Top 10 or something then yea, that would be a big deal

I think its a big deal even if she is numbered 500. The list consists of designers, muses/models, editors, retailers, executives, make-up artists, photographers, stylists, brand founders, creative directors...et al belonging to 27 countries, in-short all the who's who of the fashion world 😛. The list is not about who wear better clothes but about the the people who shape the "global fashion industry"

And no there could be more than 50 fashion icons in an industry. Look at America, from actors to designers to Singers pop stars even politicians and journalist all have their distinct style and all most all are considered trend setter or fashion icons. Same goes for UK, France, Italy, even China is catching up now. India is also slowly emerging as a country to look out for but yes the exposure is limited. Here like you said only a handful of people here are called fashion forward or fashion icon. Sonam may not be a strong actor but definitely one of the few people who knows her clothes and have made the industry more fashion conscious.

P.S. She is one of the 39 models and muses from around the world featured in the list of 500 😊 So YaY!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😃
