CHAPTER-6.

"Welcome Miss Astha Kirloskar!Welcome to Laurel's event management company!"Exclaimed the jovial Sachin extending his hand towards Astha.

Smiling Astha took his hand,and shook it.She already liked her new boss a lot.And she was already happy that fate had not been so cruel as to make that Shlok Agnihotri her boss.Her happiness was short lived though,as her new jovial boss seemed to be too much fond of THE Agnihotri.As before she had finished cherishing her happiness and good luck, letting go of her hand the old man turned to Shlok.

"So?What do you think of my new assistant Shlok?!Won't you congratulate her?!"Sachin asked Shlok,who was still standing at the same place,making holes into Astha's back,with his piercing gaze,Astha could literally feel it.

Bappa!Help me!Please please don't make him talk to me!She prayed closing her eyes,her back still turned to him.

"Miss Kirloskar..?"Came a husky voice from behind her.

Thanks Bappa!You helped a lot!Astha thought angrily,still unwilling to turn and face Shlok.

"Miss Kirloskar..?"Astha clenched her hand into tight fists,as she saw her new boss giving her weird looks,at her lack of response.She did not have any other option.She had to turn now..

"Miss Ki-"

Bappa!What is this man?!Why can't he stop calling me?!

"Yes?!"Astha finally turned to face the man she loathed,her eyes looking behind his shoulder.She was not going to look at him at any cost.

"Congartulations on your new job.."A slight movement made her look at him through the corner of her eyes,when she saw his hand extended towards her.

Astha was now really worried ,confused as to how to ignore this friendly and polite overture.Her brand new boss must surely be thinking she was the rudest human alive..This time though,her Bappa finally saved her.

Mr. Sachin Parekh's cell phone started ringing..

Astha almost let out of a sigh of relief,when she saw Mr. Sachin leave the office cabin..Almost..As she stopped in mid breath,when she realized she was now alone in the office room with The Shlok Agnihotri,and as her eyes turned to his hand,she noticed it was still held out towards her.

"Congratulations Miss Kirloskar."He said in that husky voice again.

What is wrong with him?!Why isn't he stopping this?!She thought gritting her teeth on anger.

Astha decided to make him understand loud and clear,she was not interested in any sort of exchange with him,be it polite,formal or informal.

So to make her point,she rudely turned her back to him,and without a backwards glance,she left the office room.

Let him stand with his hand extended,the whole day!She thought angrily,as reaching the outside of the office,and after closing the door, she fled,trying to put some good distance between herself and that loathsome man.The man who was actually the wolf wearing the sheep's clothing.

"Where is she?!"Asked Sachin,on re-entering the office.

"Gone with the wind.."Came an absent minded Shlok's reply.

"What?!"

"Nothing..She just left."Shlok quickly amended.

"So what did you think of her?!"

"Interesting.It's very interesting indeed.."Shlok murmured puzzling Mr. Sachin all over again.

Suddenly Shlok got up from the chair he had been sitting on.

"Where are you going?!"

"To do some deer hunting.."Came Shlok's even more baffling reply.

"How was your day Astha beta?"Asked her Ajji as she entered the house.

"It could have been better.."She murmured softly.

"What did you say?!"Asked her mother,who had came out hearing her entering.

"It was awesome!"Astha quickly said cheerfully."Come and sit over here..Let me tell you what a wonderful boss I have.."Astha pulled her mother to sit beside her Ajji on the sofa and went on prattling about her day..Of course she left out Shlok from her story..

"Sir now?!Formal dress?!Yes,okay sir.Yes I'll be ready in 15 minutes.Okay sir."Astha kept the phone down,and ran to let her mother know of her call from her boss.

She had to attend a party tonight,and Mr. Sachin will also be there.It was crucial.And Astha could not dishearten her boss or her family,by lacking in her efficiency in her new job.So she had to go.

Finally Astha was ready in a black saree with red border.Since it was a formal party,she had dressed formally.She had just finished brushing her hair when the car honked on front of her house.So the car her boss was supposed to send for her,was here..

She ran down the stairs,and called out to her mother.

"Ayi!I am leaving!The car is here!I won't be late!"She hurried to the door.

"Astha!Take the umbrella it's raining..Uff!She is gone!Such an impatient girl!"Her mother let out a frustrated sigh.

Astha noticed it was raining,after she had closed the front door.As she hesitated if to go back for an umbrella,when the passenger door of the car came open,and the driver honked twice impatiently.

"I'll just run into the car.."She decided finally.

Placing her pallu over her head for cover,she dashed into the car.

"Phew!Thank God I am not too wet!"She laughed out with relief,closing the door.

The smile still on her lips,she turned to face the driver,to ask him about the whereabouts of the party,when her mouth dropped open in astonishment.Her eyes rounded on seeing a familiar chiseled profile.

"YOU?!WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"She exclaimed out.
