CHAPTER-7.

Astha could not believe what she was seeing.Her eyes took in the familiar face..Completely baffled at his presence here,and now..It took her a minute more,to gain back her composure.

As soon as she realized who was in the car,she quickly turned to open the door..

IT IS NOT OPENING!She realized with shock.She kept trying continuously,but she could not unlock the door or window too!

Enraged she turned to face him.Her eyes burning with fury,her nostrils flared,and her hands clenched into tight fists,she faced the man himself.

"Mr. Shlok Agnihotri!Open the door!I want to get out of this car!"She exclaimed between clenched teeth.

Rain fell heavily,and seconds passed,but her tormentor did not turn to face her and nor did he make any attempt to do as she bid.

"Mr. Agnihotri!You cannot do this!I'll file harassment case against you!Open the-"

Astha could not finish her sentence,as suddenly the car sped out of the front porch,and she just managed to hold the dashboard at the last moment,almost being thrown out through the front window,due to the sudden acceleration.

Astha was getting scared as he drove on like a maniac throughout the pouring rain,as the roads could barely be seen.She was half out of her seat,due to the lack of seat belt,and holding onto the dashboard for her dear life.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!STOP THE CAR!!!"She screamed on vain.Infact her scream only helped in accelerating the already extreme speed to a higher one,scaring the life out of her even more.He had taken the car to a lonely mountainous road and showed no signs of reducing the speed,whatsoever.

"MR...!MR SHLOK!!!STOP IT!ARE YOU CRAZY?!!"
The car sped on,and she could see a scary turning ahead,and the car swerved to the right at high speed,almost falling out of the road into the valley beside it,and hitting the trees,by the road..The trees were not hit,and the car did not fall off the road down the valley.

The tree and the car were safe,but to her dismay,Astha found herself sprawled on Shlok's lap now,as she had lost her balance during the sudden swerve.Her upper body was lying on Shlok's lap now,and..

SCREECH!!!

And that was when Shlok screeched the car to a halt finally.

Breathing heavily Astha stared up at his hard face,still lying on his lap,and slowly watched him lower his eyes to hers.

Whatever Astha had expected,she had not expected the sudden twitch on his lips,which oddly looked like a quickly hidden naughty smile.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!"Astha snapped out from her lying position,and her anger escalated by thousand folds,when that question changed the twitching lips to a naughty smile.

"DON'T YOU HAVE ANY DECENCY?!!"She snapped out,and to her utter irritation,his smile changed to a huge grin.

Astha was extremely irritated now.

"MR. .. SHLOK.. AGNIHOTRI..What do-"

"So you know my name?!"Shlok interrupted her in his husky voice.His face a mask of innocent shock.Leaving Astha a bit flustered.

"I..What kind of question is that?!!We met today..-"

"So you remember meeting me?!"

"Why won't I remember,I saw you-"

"So you DID SEE ME?!"Shlok interrupted once again.And this time Astha was truly furious.

"Listen Mr.Shlok Agnihotri!Don't play word games with me!First of all you were indecent enough to-"

"Indecent?!Me?!"

That's it!I have had enough of this!Astha thought angrily.

"Mr. Shlo-"

"Ah..Ummm..Miss Kirloskar..?Are you comfortable arguing like this?I mean,it's alright if you are.."He drifted off.

Astha frowned in puzzlement.

"What do you mean?!"She could not help but ask.

"No..It's perfectly alright if you are enjoying lying on my lap..Actually it's a bit cozier like..this.."Shlok's face was perfectly straight,but Astha did not miss the twinkle in his eyes.And at the same time his words finally sank into her seemingly short circuited brain.

Astha was up straight within seconds..Her face colored with embarrassment,she looked away,out the window.

Shlok could not help but smile and stare at the profile of the beauty beside him.He could tell she was embarrassed.

His eyes traced her face,in the semi darkness of the car..It was a flawless face,he remembered..Traces of her hair had fallen on her face..Her hair,she had beautiful hair..He had almost raised his hand to touch those soft silky locks,but somehow held himself back.

He knew he had scared her..But it had not been his intention to scare her..But her illogical anger at seeing him again,had irked him..Infact he himself did not know what he was doing there right then with this girl..

He was out on a stormy rainy night,with an unknown girl in a lonely road...A beautiful girl..Who seemed to dislike him for no reason..And intrigued him..And puzzled him..

Shlok frowned at his wayward thoughts.

What the hell am I doing here?!And what the hell am I thinking?!He suddenly realized angrily.

In a split second he decided it was time he started for that party,for which he had agreed to help pick her up in the first place,due to Sachin's request.

"Miss Kirloskar..Please put on your seat belt.."He murmured as he started the car again.

He looked at her impatiently,to check if she had put it on,but she was still staring out,absent minded.

"Miss Kirloskar..!"He called out again,making Astha turn this time."Seat belt..We have a party to attend.."

Astha tried to fasten the seat belt but it was stuck..

Uncomfortable,as she could feel his impatient gaze on her,she fumbled with the seat belt..But as was her nature and luck,she could not fasten the seatbelt despite attempting it continuously.

Suddenly she got startled,when she was pushed against the back of her seat by Shlok.Her eyes wide open,she stared up into his dark ones.

CLICK!

He had fastened the seat belt within seconds,after seeing her fumble with it for minutes..She tried to relax as he started moving away,but then stopped.

Taut with tension,her eyes stared into his unblinkingly..His face was so close to hers..She could actually smell his spicy cologne..

His dark mysterious eyes,kept hers locked with his,for an endless time..Astha felt her heart rate quicken and her pulse race with every passing second..Her breathing accelerated..

She could not move her eyes away from his..Nor could she blink..She was almost in a daze,as she watched his face coming closer to hers...
