Help- Relationship btwn Shiv and Ipshita?

hello everyone!
I just started watching KAA recently, and am really enjoying it, but I am a little confused. I understand that Shiv married Gauri but had an affair with Ipshita. But then in the scene where Ipshita tells Shiv 'how can you even think I would ever harm anyone close to you...' something to that extent, she mentions something like you married Gauri so that you could marry me. Maybe I miss understood. But if Shiv loved Ipshita why did he marry Gauri? Can someone please give me the background on that?

actually i am confused too..need emergency help.. can someone clear the confusion 😆

shiv got a dosh in his kundali tht his wife wud die within 8months of marriage. so nikhila makes this plan of marryin shiv and gauri, for tht on gauri's weddin day she makes the groom run away and mahen forces shiv to marry gauri(even though he knew everythin, and he didn't believe in kundali and all he didn;t want to risk ipshitha;s life)so he marries gauri, but tries to get a divorce from the beginin but gauri refuse to divorce shiv and later shiv realize tht gauri "ek achi insaan hai", and they become friends and gauri falls in love with shiv, but after tht shiv tells gauri abt the kundali problem and gauri leaves shiv, later realizes tht she can't live without shiv and comes back to shiv, and later they reveal tht shiv and ippy r lovers and he married gauri only to marry ippy after gauri dies. but now he reallty cares for gauri and wants her to leave him , so tht she won;t die. and guruji predicts tht gauri will die on jan 31st.in between ippy gets engaged to anupam and on their engagement gauri and shiv consumate the marriage. and later gauri meets with an accident. but she survives and later it is revealed tht gauri got a very strong kundali and with tht all the dosh in shiv's kundali was cleared. and now ippy asks shiv to tell gauri abt them and divorce her. when he was abt to tell gauri the truth, gauri tells him tht she is pregnant.

u r welcome😊!!! by the way mahen was not aware of nikky's plan, he made shiv marry gauri 'coz he wanted to save his best friend's izzat. but after the kundali thin is reveal, gauri's dad hates mahen and mahen now doesn't like nikky as she did all this. and apart from nikky, ippy's mom and maya knows abt shiv and ippy and maya keeps blackmailin nikky abt it and nikky wants shiv to marry ippy only for her property.
