I have one basic problem since last Friday's episode. How can Jagya assume Ganga wants to marry him - he cant forcibily put sindoor on her maang and marry her. Did he ask her? Just because he gave her shelter and helped her doesnt mean she should marry him.And her telling Lal Singh about her feelings when Jagya got hurt doesnt mean she wants to marry..

When has Jagya cared for the woman in his life?

1. Did he care for Anandi's feelings when he left her? Did her ever think how she will lead her life?

2. Did he care for Gauri when he left her?

3. Did her care for Sanchi when he agreed to marry her? Did he ever pause and think how she can live as a wife when he doesn't love her?

4. When he decided to stay away from Ganga, did he wonder how Ganga would take it. He knew he was in love and wanted to be away because he can't control his emotions.

5. Similarly, did he ask Ganga if he wants to marry him? It's another point that she too wanted it, but ask for confirmation.

No he did not. He just learnt about her feelings from Lal Singh and Anandi. They both did not confess anything to each other. Bas ho gaya maang filling.

Actually I hate such sequences in films and serials. It is not romantic. It is a sign of backwardness. That a man puts a mark on a woman's head and she "becomes his".

It is irritating when women stop in their tracks as men put sindoor on their head. As if, they're taken now, they can't do anything.

I hated it in Gadar also when Sunny Deol filled Amisha's maang with his blood and said she'd become a Sikhni now! As if she was taken and her religion was also changed in a flash!

This is a backward stereotype. Nothing romantic about it.

I wonder why serials and films keep showing it! 🤢

(I am not talking about JaGan marriage here. Only the symbolism and stereotypes.)

romantic Indian style.

americans would have kissed for about 10 long minutes. and sumitra, Ira, sanchi would have got fits. and sanchi would have begged Jagya to kiss her also.😆

Meanwhile daddu would have tried to kiss DS.😆

Very valid points all - but Ganga loves him doesnt mean she wants to marry... She was not given a choice to decide if she wants to marry a twice married, once divorced Jagya. Esp when he comes with his ex-wife, her saasra and his own family's emotional baggage. Is she an object to be claimed by maang filling? I was so put off by the scene, just the over-reaction by Ira n Co made me write this 3 days later. CVs have complicated the whole thing so much 😕

I guess they are not teens where they love first and they think about marriage at later age. At this age if they love someone means they want to be together for life. He knew she loves him. I don't think its a big deal between Jagya and Ganga that formal proposal is a must. What is this business of love but not marriage? For Ganga like girls love is complete only with the marriage. And why not? Moreover Ganga asked Jagya what is their relationship? Should he has answered 'Oh! I love you but wait let me think about if I want to marry you or not'. His way of proposing it is to go in front of Devi Ma and say 'I Love You'. If Ganga was to reject his proposal, she would have said no for Jagya.
