Is it me or does anyone else sees similarities between these two?
1- Modern Muslim girls who despite dressing in a manner which does not represent your average Muslim dress code dont forget to remind us of Namaz timings and Subhan-Allah and all that. lol
2- Both are flirts
3- Love triangle is there
4- Supported by BigBoss and Salman Khan
5- Item number, side actor level actresses.
6- Both went on dates (basically a man bjaooing baja, dim lights and outisde food)
Was Veena Malik of the same type? I heard she flirted and had same love drama with Ashmeet
My questions are
a) Do these 2 represent average Indian Muslim girls?
b) Can they find normal people which all can relate to? As a Muslim we feel odd looking at their behavior because we dont see that in real life and I am not talking about seeing burqa wearing women. I am talking about normal urban Muslim girls.
3) Are they included for a purpose? To create taboo? To gain TRP?
4) Could it just be a conicindence?
I have watched 2 seasons and they look very similar in this regard. Please clarify from Indian point of view specially if you are Indian Muslim. Maybe I dont know much about Indian Muslims but I as a moderate Muslim sure cannot relate to Gauhar and Sana Khan. Call me biased or whatever but I am telling the truth and I am very tolerant when it comes to girls. lol.

I'm a modern muslim girl living in the UK.

In terms of their internal personality and the way that they think- I can relate to them. I like both of these contestants, both carried themselves with grace and spoke in a respectable manner to everyone. Their use of the Arabic language like "SubhanAllah", "Alhumdullilah" and "Mash'Allah" was common and I liked it.

However, from the outward appearance I cannot relate to them at all. The way that they dressed and their approach to men and flirtation is completely opposite to mines.

Not saying I'm a better muslim than them or anything of the sort. Everyone has their own understanding of their religion and it's up to them to decide how they wish to conduct themselves. Their deeds, actions and intentions are between their Lord and them. Thus, I cannot judge them.

But I do not think these two women represent indian urban/modern muslim women at all. They may represent a very small proportion but I think muslim women at large are progressing in education and success without leaving their religion a side.

I dont think Sana or Gauhar effectively represent the "progressive muslim woman". However, I do not think they themselves want to portray that.
I am basing my opinion on their personalities and conduct...NOT because of their clothes., I would not judge them based on their clothes, because IMO that's kind of ridiculous.

My modern-Muslim friends are a lot more conservative than Sana and Gauhar, but I wouldn't laugh at Sana/Gauhar for not being 'ideal' Muslims. Who are we to judge anyone and their religion or their equation with God. People have their own interpretations.

Thanks all. I was beginning to feel I have touched a nerve or said something bad here. lol.
Lets clarify few things lol
1) I am not a woman hater
2) I am not a religious fanatic hating the two for wearing skimpy clothes
3) We do judge people and hence we like and dislike
4) What we should not do is judge what is between them and their God i.e. their religion
5) I too have many flaws when it comes to many things including religion.
The point was more about
a) trying to understand the mindset behind such behavior where on one hand you flirt, wear skimpy clothes and engage in behavior which is against teachings of your religion (and we can agree on that) and then at the same time you act as religious offering namaz. This could be their interpretation and all I asked was is it a common one among Indian Muslims?
When I take that and see people around me I dont see such people even in minority.
b) Once I establish that. the odds of such people coming on this show 2-3 times in 3 years would be very low.
Hence my post as to how come that is the case. Is it because Indian Muslims are different from what I observe? Is it intentional that such girls are being promoted?
Otherwise then can do whatever and it wont bother me. lol

@King-Anu I completely understand what your saying.

I had thought about writing a post on this topic myself but thought it was too sensitive.

Agreed.
Not to mention, they work in the entertainment industry so they have to be open-minded, they cannot afford to draw any lines or refuse to wear certain things/
I am sure they don't dress the same at home or when they are out with their family/friends.
