Please note in Mangalore and in Karnataka we speak Kannada and not Kannad.

It irritated the hell out of me when the characters used to say Kannad. And its not 'nan kannad gothilla' its 'nanige Kannada gothilla' to mean I don't know Kannada. Thank God the story has moved out of Mangalore.

And the characters you showed as Kannadigas looked more like Tamilians, we don't even have such strong mother tongue influence on the other languages. Don't typecast all south Indian to the same category.

We atleast speak Hindi, how many of u can speak our language? And don't jump upon saying Hindi is the national language, for heavens sake Hindi is not our national language.

I wanted to make this post since they started this Mangalore track but kept forgetting ...
Second you !
Hind movies show a lotta Tamil- based things doesn't mean that the whole of South India does like that.
I wonder if even Tamilians do that. My 3 months stay in Chennai and I never saw any person talk or behave like that. In Mangalore they do not put the vibhuthi on forehead ! Max u cud have shown is kumkum ...
Guess the CVs did not do their homework rite before starting this Mangalore track 🤔
And everyone seems to be conversing in Hindi there ! lol even when those Drs. were discussing the decision to be taken !

Exactly! I don't know where from they get these accents. I'm not saying a uneducated tamilian will speak correct hindi. But the kind of accent being show i wonder where it exists😆. They are just cliches of i don't know which era, like foreigners joking about elephants on indian road etc.

In chennai i even saw a punjabi uncle speaking perfect tamil like any normal chennai tamilian would do. But in movies they may show them speaking only hindi. Cliched portrayal happens everywhere. Cvs are just not ready or too lazy to do their homework. Lets not take this too seriously.

CVs definitely need to do a lot of research and come up with a good job to make it look real. Mangaloreans are well read and smart. They speak good Hindi. Seeing the kind of English in the last few episodes, I felt really disgusted. C'mon, Mangalore is a city where you mostly find white coats(meaning doctors, to be doctors, UG/PGs) everywhere. Showing a hospital in Mangalore, the least they could do was to show the panel of doctors speak good English atleast if not Hindi! None of them looked convincing as doctors!! It would be better if they came up with an idea of sending Ganga to Chennai instead. But I am sure even in Chennai the scene is not the same as they have been showing! 😡

I guess its got a lot to do with the movies coming up these days where they have this kinda weird accent.
nd maybe its been generalized that whole of South India has only people who talk and behave like that ! A very bad generalization
