He means that in the context of the second option. If she chooses to stay, he would like her to wear green, because it is his favourite colour, the implication being that her staying would also signify that she is letting go if the beinteha nafrat she claims to have for him.

Every time he used that phrase, I think he hoped that she would, though not deny it, at least qualify it. But she was shellshocked, and unable to take it all in, so he got no such reaction, in fact no reaction at all, and he went on till the end.

No, he does not say that 'green looks hot on her' or the 16th century equivalent thereof (though I suspect that is you being 'creative' with it!😉). He says that he likes green, use pehene rahiye. A very personal, startlingly intimate comment, and the first of its kind from him. I remembered that she was wearing green at the jashn when she enraged him by singing that paean to Rajput valour. Well, we will at least get a respite from this yellow uniform of hers!
