’Make me positive’-Shweta Kawaatra

A fter a two-year gap, Shweta Kawaatra is back to the daily soap grind.She will make an entry in Kumkum, Star Plus' after- noon soap, this month-end. Says Kawaatra, "Kumkum is a long running, successful show. I've been offered a good role. Besides, the pro- ducers BAG Films have made sure that I'm well looked after." On her role, she says, "I play Nivedi- ta, Kumkum's college friend.She has been living abroad. She is a positive character." In the current storyline, will Nivedita help Kumkum since she is going through yet another turbulent situation, courtesy her daughter-in- law? Kawaatra says, "Well,she will help and support her overcome her problems, but it's too early to say how." The last daily soap she did was Ektaa Kapoor's Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. She had enacted a negative role and the character Pallavi still remains the mother of all vamps. Does it feel strange to be back on the sets of a daily soap after two years? "No, I was prepared for this. Yes, there was a gap but the present scene is not new for me. I'm sure I'll get used to it again." The actress claims to have received several daily soap offers but choses to work only in a few select ones. Post Nach Baliye 2, Kawaatra has been on a high after the judges lauded her dancing skills. "Yes, I've become a better dancer. I now dance in shows with my husband Maanav (Gohil) and make more money," she laughs. Is there a show with Ektaa Kapoor in the offing? "Right now, my plate is full. Besides Kumkum, I am also in a countdown show for Set Max and a comedy show, Sohni Mahiwal (DD) with Varun Badola. I do want to have time for my personal life, so, this amount of work is fine," she signs off.
