Errmm... actually in tv shows, it doesn't matter who the director is- as directors have very lil to contribute. It's the creative heads and the channel EPs who decide the story line and then it's the writers' job.

Most of the times when we get a strange storyline, it's manipulated by the channel EPs as they are not attached to the characters or the story like the writers or the CVs are- all they care about is TRPs. The creatives and the directors must nod to the EPs. Sad but true.
