So I liked last week's episodes a lot, the Manor trip began on a good note. The bus journey, the dhaba-fight and the tug-of-war were great fun to watch, but after that in this week that has followed, as a SwaRon fan, straight and simple, I'm two things more than anything else: confused and disappointed.
Confused, because where I've been looking for something different in the SwaRon storyline, I'm finding either repetition or a total vacuum this week. When the trip began, I genuinely liked the first few episodes. The balance was great, the scenes were good, and it felt positive from every aspect. New place, break from monotony, the gang already happily patched up and ReYam/ShaRey evidently to follow soon...the idea of team building tasks was great too and admittedly the gang have been amazing. But in the midst of that I found myself looking for some movement in SwaRon that constantly evaded me. Episodes went by and I realised how beyond the taunting and glaring nothing actually happened for these two. In the initial trip episodes Swayam was giving attitude back to Sharon in a way I thought we hadn't seen before, and I was interested to see where that went. It was equally interesting to watch Sharon take trips down memory lane and show a very in-love facet to her that also I hadn't seen before this way. But that was how it began, and I would have wanted to see both these elements develop into something more substantial. They've seemed, however, to stay right there: the same kind of taunts, same look-look and now that they're back at college, they're mocking each other and spear-heading Boys v/s Girls? So what exactly is the SwaRon track at this point? What point is their story making? And where is it heading exactly? 😕
Which is where my disappointment comes from, that if I look back at the last two-three weeks, eventhough I enjoyed last week, the fact still remains that post break-up SwaRon's storyline has literally not moved an inch. If someone who stopped watching three weeks back returned today and asked me where have SwaRon reached since they left off, I'd actually have to say they're right where they were back then, so they haven't actually missed much. I have no complaints with the screenspace, the balance of everyone has been amazing, but seeing Swayam and Sharon individually only, with the gang and otherwise, isn't exactly heartening beyond a point if not even one exclusive SwaRon scene comes by in a span of time as long as three weeks.
So basically, my questions are: what, really, is different about SwaRon right now, considering they have taunted and glared at each other before and have stayed aloof from each other while stealing glances all the same too...or am I speaking too soon and something interesting is actually on its way? Because it doesn't seem like a very hopeful road ahead for us in general, with SwaRon patching up toh door ki baat, no sign of them even moving a step forward in their story any time soon. So how long are they to be stuck at this point?
What do you guys think? Can this Ganesh mahotsav track bring SwaRon something interesting and substantial? 😳
