I agree w/ JanakiRaghunath but for completely different reasons to hers. I hated BRC mainly due to them projecting their own ideology onto the story and inserting copious words in the mouths of just about everybody - Bheeshma, Krishna, Vidura, Gandhari, Arjun, Karna, Yudhisthir & even down to the miner who dug the Varnavarta tunnel. The last thing I want is to be reminded of it every time the Mahabharata comes up - that serial did not portray the story properly - it was just marginally better than KHMK.

Also, comparison of different shows are against I-F rules, so can we all agree not to discuss BRC at all? Or if it has to be discussed, just create a single thread where it can be, but stop there, and no discussing it outside that.

Yeah, I forgot about that point. Forget this forum, comparing two shows or actors is against IF rules too. I don't see why we even need a single thread for BRC in this forum, when it has its own AT in the Mythological Masti forum. Isn't that why the forum was created, so that fans of past mythological shows could still have a place to discuss them?😕

The comparison is inevitable...I love BRC Mahabharat & each character is our mind from the childhood...still i want to enjoy this Mahabharat as a new show...i feel there is no meaning of comparison as BRC Mahabharat aired in 80's where this Mahabharat airing in 2013 so we will see lots of differences in set/costumes etc, now they can use lots of technology also but i believe the story remained same, only difference is actor & its presentation...so i feel we must enjoy that without comparing with BRC Mahabharat..

Note:

Both the MBs follow the same source generally, the scripture "Mahabharat". Let's compare this show with the original Scripture, it will be more interesting. Anyone who still wants to discuss old MB should do it in this thread only. But considering there are many changes in time, technplogy, treatement etc. concentrating on this show Mahabharat will be a better option.

right... I'm unable to go with the pace of this MB... things are confusing here... I know the story that's why I can understand it... otherwise this MB is too glamorous ... but it doesn't give detailed info on facts.
