These past two weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions. On one hand we saw the stunted relationship of Nikhil with his family - a mother who still holds him responsible for a childhood accident, a self-absorbed sister who fails to see the dysfunction, and a father who is trying to bridge the gap in his family and failing. However, his friends and his girlfriend Ishana seem to be his pillars of strength. On the other hand, we are introduced to Lajjo's loving family, where each member watches out for the other and selflessly does things for them. The major happenings this week revolved around Lajjo's marriage, and Nikhil saving the day each time! Lajjo's in-laws' dowry demands keep escalating to the point of them asking for a fairly large sum of money two days before the wedding. Rambachan fails to get the money, until Nikhil provides it without any expectations or questions. The marriage goes on, or so we think. At the wedding, the in-laws again make a scene about dowry and a percieved second-hand scooter. While Rambachan gets them to agree for the marriage after many tears, much begging and a tall tale, Lajjo takes a stand for herself. She refuses to get married into a house where they care more about the material things she brings, than who she is. Her parents and the rest of the villagers are devastated and she starts to feel guilty about letting them down. She runs away in the middle of the night, only to get stuck in a river and almost drown. Nikhil again saves the day and gets her to safety. However, they are stranded and have to spend the night on the river banks. The next day, the news that Lajjo spent the entire night with Nikhil is doing the rounds, and is furthered strengthened when Nikhil carries an injured Lajjo home. The entire village is once again in arms about the fact that one of their own has tarnished their name. Nikhil's dadaji asks Nikhil to marry Lajjo. However, Nikhil is hesitant and plans to leave for Delhi. However, he has a change of heart and comes back to marry Lajjo, instead of leaving her to be married to an aging widower. Now begins the journey of this unlikely pair that was brought together by destiny! While Nikhil's family is looking for a way out of this alliance, Nikhil stays true to his responsibility. The next few weeks will be interesting to figure out how Lajjo fits into the house and Nikhil's life.

Yes, they truly did Anju!
As for a song...I like it the way it is...but if anyone else wants to add their input that would be great.
