The moment you see her, you know what she is. She always has a wicked expression; she is never happy when most people are. And she is the most stylish woman in the scene and undoubtedly the sole reason why TV serials run on for years...

Telly vamps are as important as the leads, because without them there's no conflict, no twist and no bad for the good to triumph over. Be it Qubool Hai's Tanveer with her one stone eye or Meenakshi (Diya Aur Baati Hum) with her quirky sense of viciousness, or even Rashi from Saath Nibhana Saathiya, who just cannot resist ruining her arch nemesis' day, they all add the evil so necessary to balance the good. These oh-so-bad ladies bring in a fun element that keeps a serial running and the viewers engaged. We love to hate them, coz without them there just isn't enough spice to make the story digestible.

Even though they promise to turn over a new leaf every other day, before the episode ends they are back to plotting and planning their next move. And we know that it will be a wonderfully wicked one...

Vamps like Komolika (Uvashi Dholakia) in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Ramola Sikand (Sudha Chandran) from Kahiin Kisi Roz, Pallavi (Shweta Kawaatra and Anchit Kaur) from Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Jigyasa (Ashwini Kaleskar) in the serial Kasamh Se who set benchmarks in negativity.
