Dear Kamal.
Do take a look at my latest,
Wuthering depths, on last night's episode. I am sure I PMed you, and in any case, it is at
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/jodha-akbar/3727183/jodha-akbar-58-wuthering-depths Yes, I did realise that the Heathcliff parallel had its problems, but I had fallen in love with that title, and so poor Heathcliff had to be fitted to Jalal's Procustean bed!
I agree with your take on the big Jalal-Jodha scene of tonight. About his relentless desire to be around her and hurt her personally, it is of course here a sign of a growing obsession pure and simple. But in other cases, this sort of behaviour is also a sign of festering hate, and it features in this fashion in so many films. The hater does not always want to avoid the very sight of the hated, often he/she wants to poke and prod and harass his
bete noire for a sort of perverse satisfaction.
But to tell you the truth, I am beginning to find these sessions of theirs comic in the extreme. Jalal is like one of those old LPs stuck in the same place, and when he was snarling at her from 6 inches away and promising her a fate worse than death, what does she do? She says
Yeh uchit nahin hai! I almost collapsed in giggles. It reminded me of her old mantra
Aapko yeh karne ka adhikar nahin hai. And in the precap, I was laughing at the sole change in her mantra, that now the
ghruna is for herself!
I agree with your take on Jalal's
rok, and about your PS. Jodha has to grow up.

Hi Shyamala,
thnx for the writeup again...Well, let me clear a few hings before I comment on the incident shown today...First of all, I am relieved to see that it was a 😛dream only ...hence not so irritated with Jalal now!! Secondly, by saying illiterate and jaahil, I meant the real sense of it and not the literal one...i.e. not someone without the literacy training but someone who has not been able to imbibe the essence of knowledge imparted to him/her, which is Modesty/Politeness ,Level-headedness and Forgiveness. For me, being educated in the truest sense is being able to imbibe the wisdom which comes NOT from the degrees one have , but from what practises of the knowledge the person has inculcated in thyself. I too have come across numerous examples of "educated jaahils" and "illiterate sages" in life till date..😉 Thirdly, yes, I have read WH but apart from the sadism on Heathcliff's part due to his early life influences, I do not see semblance with our Jalal here. But yes, I totally agree that somehow the vengeance Jalal is showing is also becoz of his impression that Jodha refuses him badly which hits his ego now and again as off-lately he had started liking her . This Rajat chap is creating a wonder with his "Oh-so-real " cruel expressions and declarations..!!👏
As for Jodha it seems that she has lost interest in everything (including hating Jalal😆) becoz of her helpless state and is trying to fumble out some way of halting the superfast train of her husband's rage.( And don't you agree that every time Jalal walks up to her is actually a way of seeing and feeling her nearby , even if it is by the context of touching her cheek to sample her teardrops and then showering her with his sadistic declarations !! This is not exactly the way one behaves with someone whom he claims to Hate!! 😉😉 becoz then u usually try to avoid even the glimpse of the person.
Also, when he said that there's no ROK to his doings, it appeared he just invited Jodha to give it a try , I mean as if he meant to say "I could have happily given YOU a chance to bridle me,but you have let it go by foolishly...so now face the consequences"😛 )
U r right, let's see how the Cvs turn the tables after all these firebolts!!😊
Regards,Kamal
P.S. I think the Cvs should try to make her more prudent after this is sorted and make her realise that she cannot only think of Amer's wellbeing while being at logger-heads with her Husband and spoil her own fate becoz of other conspirators. The fate of her homeland and herself are intertwined as of now.
