Phata Poster Nikla Hero full music album review by JD
Phata Poster Nikla Hero is an upcoming comedy action film directed by the much acclaimed director Rajkumar Santoshi under the banner of Tips Music Films.Slated for a September 20 release, it features our very own Chocolaty hero Shahid Kapoor and the beautiful Ileana D'cruz in lead roles.

Expectations :- A film that is a kind of comeback for Shahid Kapoor holds a lot of significance and as such is a very keenly awaited release of this year and the same applies for its music album too which boasts of some of the finest talents of the country. Also with some of the tracks that have been released by the makers being received positively by the music lovers have made sure that Pritam and Co. have their task cut out. All in all nothing short of a chartbustingalbum is accepted.
The Reality :- The soundtrack on offer has ten tracks (no remixes, thankfully!) in totality.The general mood of the album is upbeat and energetic and there is lot of soul and emotional depth in some of the tracks which is always good to see these days. The lyricists Amitabh and Irshad have done a commendable job and in their company, Pritam has gone on to deliver one of his finest albums till date.
Fab Five :-
1. Main Rang Sharbaton Ka :- Arguably the best track of the album and one of the best love songs of the year sung by none other than the voice of the hearts Atif Aslam and the ever so sweet Chinmayi. A brilliant track in all aspects, it lifts the spirits and lives up the proceedings.Definitely,a must hear.
2. Janam Janam :- A song dedicated to the most precious gift to the human beings,i.e.the Mother.Coupled with some heart-wrenching lyrics and Atif's soulful singing,this is one track that is sure to melt even the stone-hearted.A rare track,especially in this age of item numbers,it is highly recommended.
3. Hey Mr. DJ :- Essentially an upbeat and a groovy club number crooned by the magical of Benny Dayal,Shalmali Kholgade and Shefali Alvares. The combo of Benny+ Pritam has given numerous Chartbusters in the past (Badtameez Dil, Lat lag gayi etc.) and this one is the latest addition to this Chartbusters club. Thanks to its release on the internet a few days back,it has already become quite a rage among the youth..
4. Mere Bina Tu (Both versions):- A love song with lots of emotional depth describing the grief of separation that is natural and unavoidable.Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's earthy voice coupled with Harshdeep's alluring vocals make this one absolutely special. The lyricists too deserve a lot of credit for such a beautiful composition.All in all, a beautiful track.
5. Tu Mere Agal Bagal :- A love song with a twist,sung extremely well by the King of the masses Mika Singh in his characteristic jolly voice. Although it is essentially a massy track but,you can't help yourself but start humming the song after listening to this extremely lovable track.
Also Must Hear :- Main Rang Sharbaton Ka (Reprise ) Janam Janam (Reprise+Sad)
Hard Talk :- Nothing much to talk about as the album is much bigger and better than what was expected. However, that item number called Dhating Naach pales in comparison to the other tracks in the album. Arijit Singh's track is fine but surely not magical(expected from him every time, nowadays). Keep these minor glitches aside and you have a gem of an album on the hand. That said, the box office run of the film too will determine the overall popularity of the album.
Final Verdict:- On the whole,the soundtrack on offer is refreshing, impactful and at the same time it is quite soulful.This one will surely go down as one of Pritam's finest works till date.
