I agree with your point that Jalal discussing Jodha with Ruqs rubs me the wrong way, but then again he has no other friend to discuss his personal issues...and I think since none of us have had a childhood friend we've married - we don't even know how that equation works...now, he doesn't do the same with anyone else (not even MA or his mom!) So, I'll probably give him benefit of doubt as long as he doesn't make a habit of it...
However, I'm in slight disagreement with the rest of your views...
Firstly, where is there proof to fall back on to say that queens and princesses were not arrogant in yesteryears...we go by what we've interpreted from historical books and narratives...I'm sure arrogance was not a trait born yesterday...[for e.g. if one reads about Sanyogita in PRC raso in some places it does portray her as an arrogant princess who didn't get along with PRC's 6 other wives]
Also, Jodha barging in yesterday made total sense - if she'd waited or begged or pleaded Moti would have been dead...
This is in contrast to the other time when she actually asked her 'Shehenshah' permission to even talk to Mothi in court...
Yes, she is arrogant - but only with Jalal in private and she's never retorted unless she's been provoked...and this has only happened with MA and Ruqs...we dont' see her complaining about Jalal to Hameeda (when we know Hameeda is the only one who likes Jodha there)...and as for Jalal...he's no doodh ka dhula either...he knows why she hates him, yet he's never actively sought trying to clear the air...almost like he loves the fact that Jodha hates him and yet has to submit to him...
and when this cruel Jalal has been accepted by public (a stark contrast to his ever-kind counterpart in the movie) why not accept a defiant Jodha too...
A well matched arrogant couple me thinks...😃...with a lot of dramatic license obviously..
