I think why this very scene was incorporated was because the CV's wanted to throw light on Asad's childhood..as in what all he had to go through and endure being a kid..Plus in my opinion it also justified his blind faith behind tannu..As a child he was ridiculed as being WEIRD, hence he had no one to share his feelings with..Meanwhile there was tannu with whom he opened himself and hence the connection!! I might be wrong but I felt this might have a link to that!!
And the very reason he came back to Mr.Rodriguez was not to prove a point to her..but to himself that HE being adjudged as the WEIRDEST of the lot has found a match who other so called NORMAL guys would be envious of š
