Hi HPians...
I am new to this forum..
The thing is, I have a doubt regarding the novel..Well, we know Thestrals can only be seen by the people who have seen death. And Harry is able to see them only in Order of the Phoenix, as he saw the murder of Cedric Diggory last year.
But then, Harry's parents were murdered by Voldemort in the presence of Harry.
Okay, he was just one year old, but even then his mother died in front of him(as depicted in Deathly hallows). So, he should be able to see Threstrals from his first year, isnt it?
But he doesn't..

He didn't watch his mother die in front of him, as opposed to what we've been shown in the movies.

Like Shreya said, he didn't see his mother die in front of him...you have to see a death with your own eyes to see the Thestrals. 😊

Like GredForge said above, it's not about witnessing a death. It's about letting that death sink in.
