How Jodha can handle Jalal

Friends, I have just had a thought that if Jodha wants to get a handle on the best way to deal with Jalal, it may be hidden in the emotions of his childhood.
Already we have seen at least four indications that Jalal seems to have tucked away his heart in his childhood, but now and then triggers of his childhood, bring his heart to the fore again. One clear thing we all see is that he seems to love kids and in fact he goes down to their level when he is with them (i.e. maybe he loves himself more as the child he was more than the man he has become).
1. First there was that scene with his missing chappals at the wedding when Jodha's little cousin sisters demanded gifts for returning Jala's chappals, and he caressed and carried one of them after that.
2. During the nikaah with Salima we saw Jalal walking hand-in-hand with Bairam's little son after the nikaah, as if they were great pals.
3. Yesterday there was the scene with the little Hindu boy who brought tears to Jalal's eyes as he asked for the Shanehsah's aadesh, reminding Jalal of his own childhood.
4. Also every day when Jalal runs to Ruqaiya to talk over his frustrating relationship with Jodha, he seems to be looking for a childhood pal to confer with. It is irritating to watch him defer to Ruqaiya, but if you look at his overall behaviour it is not surprising that he runs to the "childhood friend" whenever in some form of personal emotional distress. (Unfortunately Ruqaiya is not exavvctly the right one to address emotional issues, I think.)
What all this tells me is that the Jalal's deepest core of personal identity (his heart) has got trapped in his childhood, and if he himself or even Jodha wants to be able to get through to the present day Jalal, it may need to be by evoking in him again his childhood. That is his vulnerable spot, and that is probably the way to get his present day attention and interest.
My hunch is that if Salima's son can somehow be the connecting factor, he can probably bring Jodha and Jalal together in a way like never before. Even if both Jodha and Jalal were to spend five minutes together with this kid, and the three could find a way to mutually interact, at a childish level, both Jodha and Jalal may let their guard down just for the space of a few moments, to become children once again. There in that space some measure of connection between Jalal and Jodha can happen.
These are just my passing views. Would love to know what everyone thinks!

Well, Mansi, one of the comforts of agreeing completely with someone is that one has to say that and do nothing more. That is what I am doing now, and yes, the Rahim-the-Motormouth-as-a-bridge track will come soon, never fear. But remember also that we still have at least 455 episodes to go!😉

Well I think Jalal has a weakness towards children as his childhood was a lonely one. The way he melted when Jodha's little sisters took the sandals. The way he melted when he saw the kid who was asking back his house and set his parents free. He remembered all his memories and hugged the child and ordered to set the parents free. I think Jodha can handle him in this way

The secret seems to be in somehow making Jalal "become a child again". He has to be made to forget who he really is (Shahenshah, Badshah, jallad, Ruqaiya's partner-in-mind-games, Jodha's revengeful husband etc etc.)
He has to be given chances to become childish, playful and merry again. In fact we don't know if he was ever childish, playful or merry in childhood or whether he was deprived of all this totally in childhood. Nevertheless, he has to have the opportunities to go back to that state of mind again, whether he has ever been there before or not.
Even in his connect with Mansingh, I see a certain longing to go back in time. There seems to be a whole chapter of life called "growing up" that has gone bby Jalal at such speed that he may not even remember the details of it.
That's my feeling!

Yes, Ash, but how precisely? The cute little saalis are not on tap, so that leaves only Rahim, that sassy kid.

indeed a very interesting POV from your end Mansi 😳👍🏼...
I do agree that "a child" can help Jalal to come out from what ever dilemma it was... Rahim could help... but how far...
I somehow dun see Jodha equation here... For me it has to be ruqaiyya here.. But whether ruqaiyya is interested to travel that far for Jalal in tems of healing his wounds is left to be seen ... as so far shes only doing mind games with him... From yday epi she knew how Jalal operates n feels...
It will be very interesting to see Jalal Jodha convo when they start up to open to each other. How far will Jalal allow Jodha in to his territory... Ruqaiyya has it but she gives him back equally like she knows how far she can go or do within the limits... nothing more n nothing less...
I do agree abt Man Singh here though, he sees Man Singh as himself...
N theres someone posted in shymala aunthy thread abt child factor, i think the missing of child factor also between ruqaiyya n jalal makes Jalal treats kids with gentle care. The wedding, man singh (grown up kid) n rahim itself...n how the hindu boy ... (of course connected with his past as well)...
I hope i made sense 😆.. u know what mansi characters that have dark past is indeed interesting be it Jalal, Arnav Singh Raizada, Rishbala Kundra... the list goes on 😆

Yes, he does seem to have a soft corner for children and so does Jodha...possibly they both have a soft corner for the less fortunate/helpless and that principle could be a bridging factor in their relationship...

You know...for being a testosterone-laden lad with a harem full of beautiful women, he didn't seem to have many offsprings to carry on his lineage...

Genghiz khan on the other hand...😆 they say about 1 in 200 of us today owe our genes to this guy

But Jalal has been childishly playful with his childhood pal Ruku and it has been shown that they still play with each other inside the bedroom...beside Ruku exactly knows what happened with Jalal in his childhood...So if she has not been able to cure him than what chances Jodha have?

Actually I am reminded of another small scene that has clues again that Jalal can be handled better via his "childhood". If you all remember, he was about to behead the lady from the harem who had an affair with her lover and claimed the baby was Jalal's. At that time Hamida Banu intervened and advised Jalal against harsh punishment and even said the reason for Jalal and Ruqaiya's not having a child could be because there was no love between the at all.
Later in the bedroom, Jalal asks Ruqaiya to consider what his mother said and he asks her if it is true ... to which Ruqaiya does the typical thing that adult people do with small kids. She offers him the alternative bait of "going for shikar" and in that moment, Jalal the Kid was so easily diverted from one topic to another.
It struck me at that time that it was so easy to just treat him like a kid and give him a new toy to forget the old one. Ruqaiaya also never tires of saying he goes from onne woman in the harem to another like a kid playing with the novelty of a new toy for a while.
In hindsight, now, that "treat him like a kid" is probably the only way that works with him. If you appeal to his adult emotions or adult mind you will just raise his hackles. Treat him like a kid and he falls lock, stock and barrel for it!
There's a difference however in the way Ruqaiya did it versus how Maham Anga does it. The Maham way is obviously counterproductive. Maham tries to remind Jalal of how his childhood is beholden to her, which is absolutely not the way to handle him I guess. Instead Ruqaiya does not appeal to his "judgement" she just "treats him like a kid" and it seems to work.
