Friends, I have just had a thought that if Jodha wants to get a handle on the best way to deal with Jalal, it may be hidden in the emotions of his childhood.
Already we have seen at least four indications that Jalal seems to have tucked away his heart in his childhood, but now and then triggers of his childhood, bring his heart to the fore again. One clear thing we all see is that he seems to love kids and in fact he goes down to their level when he is with them (i.e. maybe he loves himself more as the child he was more than the man he has become).1. First there was that scene with his missing chappals at the wedding when Jodha's little cousin sisters demanded gifts for returning Jala's chappals, and he caressed and carried one of them after that.2. During the nikaah with Salima we saw Jalal walking hand-in-hand with Bairam's little son after the nikaah, as if they were great pals.3. Yesterday there was the scene with the little Hindu boy who brought tears to Jalal's eyes as he asked for the Shanehsah's aadesh, reminding Jalal of his own childhood.4. Also every day when Jalal runs to Ruqaiya to talk over his frustrating relationship with Jodha, he seems to be looking for a childhood pal to confer with. It is irritating to watch him defer to Ruqaiya, but if you look at his overall behaviour it is not surprising that he runs to the "childhood friend" whenever in some form of personal emotional distress. (Unfortunately Ruqaiya is not exavvctly the right one to address emotional issues, I think.)What all this tells me is that the Jalal's deepest core of personal identity (his heart) has got trapped in his childhood, and if he himself or even Jodha wants to be able to get through to the present day Jalal, it may need to be by evoking in him again his childhood. That is his vulnerable spot, and that is probably the way to get his present day attention and interest. My hunch is that if Salima's son can somehow be the connecting factor, he can probably bring Jodha and Jalal together in a way like never before. Even if both Jodha and Jalal were to spend five minutes together with this kid, and the three could find a way to mutually interact, at a childish level, both Jodha and Jalal may let their guard down just for the space of a few moments, to become children once again. There in that space some measure of connection between Jalal and Jodha can happen. These are just my passing views. Would love to know what everyone thinks!

Well, Mansi, one of the comforts of agreeing completely with someone is that one has to say that and do nothing more. That is what I am doing now, and yes, the Rahim-the-Motormouth-as-a-bridge track will come soon, never fear. But remember also that we still have at least 455 episodes to go!😉

Well I think Jalal has a weakness towards children as his childhood was a lonely one. The way he melted when Jodha's little sisters took the sandals. The way he melted when he saw the kid who was asking back his house and set his parents free. He remembered all his memories and hugged the child and ordered to set the parents free. I think Jodha can handle him in this way
