yes exactly the 'what will society say was one part of it' but the other was..he was not educated (ssc failed, for me it does not matter if he is willing to work hard), he was working in a shop (again it does not matter to me if he is hardworking and is earning his wages honestly),Originally posted by: sectoreight
lovesunshine,
In general, about your friend, I think one needs to carefully assess what the parents concerns are. If it is just "what will society say" or something like that ... then they may not be great arguments. But if there are arguments for issues of compatibility etc. which relate to interpersonal issues, then fine okay, listen to parents.
the main things were that the parents did a background research for this guy and found out that his habits are not good,, heavy drinking, smoking, tobacco, gambling habit, arrogance and angry brawls (like salman khan) in public places were reported..so they felt that in the future it may affect their daughter's life..so they tried desperately to stop their daughter but all in vain..
n now all this what they had feared is coming up in her life like tv serial episodes..well what can we do or say..she has to take the step ..we can only help her think clearly..
