Maybe because of some special event on Independence day.

Only guessing, mind you, haven't watched anything on TV today, but during last few days, saw many promos for special shows on independence day. So that's why.

They showed Hum Saath Hain Uttrakhand, to raise funds for the flood damage and victims & celebrate Independence Day. It took up EGB time so was skipped. I was confused too but there is a Maha episode on Saturday to make up for it!
