Indeed divorce is what will solve Kumud's problem and save her from the despicable state. But I don't think SLB is that bold to shock the primitive Indian society. This serial only perpetuates the victim image of womanhood. She is born to suffer, save the honour of her family. Self-negation is emphatically underscored through these female characters.
