I find Pramad to be a really pathetic character but somewhat hilarious. He makes wife Kumud and houseguest Saras avoid making eye contact with him because of his position, yet he doesn't do this to Kalika who is a mere servant. Kumud and Saras both come from much higher backgrounds than Kalika and an equally high status family as Pramad. But Pramad tries to make them not look at him not only because of their lower situation but because of their higher ones. He can't look them in the eye because they can see through his false sense of self, one that hides behind his father's money and name. He doesn't do this to Kalika because she gives him a sense of importance which noone else in the house does. While I think he is too harsh on Kumud, I don't blame him for not liking her. Would you like someone you were forced to marry, even as beautiful as Kumud? Kumud is trying to make the best out of her raw deal, which is justifiably Guman and Saras' fault. Pramad did not choose this marriage, and Kumud only did it to save her father's name. Plus if he were super nice and he had a suhaag raat I would probably throw up so anything else is a welcome alternative. I am glad Saras knows it's not a real marriage and could never be, considering the intensity of their past chemistry. Imagine how much worse it would be. =)
