Dubbed by many as the most beautiful woman in the world, the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, will never be a star in the United States. How can the reigning queen of Indian cinema, not have a chance of a breakthrough in the US?

Aishwarya Rai, is by far the biggest cinema star in India. Having made 24 films in the past 7 years, Aishwarya is adored by over a billion fans. With all this success, why is stardom in the United States out of the question?

Growing up, Aishwarya never had aspirations of being an actress. Aishwarya Rai was raised in a strict middle-class family, and was an "A" student focused on becoming an architect. On a whim, she entered the "Miss World" pageant to create an awareness about Indian women and the Indian society.

Crowned Miss World at age 21, it didn't take long for Aishwarya Rai to become the biggest star in Bollywood. She was quickly flooded with film offers, in the new entertainment capitol of the world.

However, Bollywood is not Hollywood. Not even close. One of the main reasons the Indian film industry has experienced such a worldwide acceptance is the family oriented nature of their films. Not only are there no sex scenes, there is also no kissing. It is easy to see why Hollywood has not made a dent in one of the world's largest markets.

Aishwarya Rai is incredibly intelligent and deeply traditional, despite her worldwide acclaim. Aishwarya has sponsorship deals with many of the world's largest companies, including DeBeers jewelry, drink maker Coca Cola, and cosmetic giant L'Oreal. An astute businesswoman, Aishwarya negotiates her own deals. Hollywood agents would never stand for such actions.

In keeping to her traditional roots, Aishwarya Rai still lives at home with her parents. Now how many Hollywood actresses, successful actresses could pull this off?

Aishwarya Rai does have several Hollywood projects lined up, but don't expect any "Basic Instinct" type of performances. Firmly grounded in her religious and cultural beliefs, Aishwarya looks to expand the Indian presence in a positive way on a global scale.

The cultural divide between Hollywood and Bollywood is huge. The demands of US film industry is beyond the ethical boundaries of even most US born actors. However, the acknowledgement that Aishwarya Rai will never fit the Hollywood mold is a good thing. It's nice to know there are still a few cars on the

I do not think she is a star in Bollywood YET! Yes she is as beautiful as a china doll. Probably we could say she is a great model but not a star because the defnition of star includes "ACTING" as a requirement. Now this could become subjective if people start thinking walking on a ramp as acting 😊

Prude and propah stars can never be "complete well rounded" actors

Watch Ash in Umrao Jaan, the emotions didnt look real...Not meaning to say actresses should do heavy duty make out scenes, but being too prude at times can thwart the growth of an actor....Her ties with the Bachchans doesnt help either.

Kangana and Vidya are two such who show great potential to grow as an actress 👏

Since when? Yeah, she's really gorgeous but biggest cinema star in India? NO. of course not. If she's the biggest star, then how abt Madhuri, Preity, Rani Kajol Juhi and Karisma .. the list goes on... there are Bigger stars than her who have delievered bigger hits. really.

Sorry no offence but I think ash is not the biggest star in India.
