Hey guys!

Just something that popped into my head when I read all posts about how he would fulfill the last two wishes.

Enjoy!

16 Year Old Zoya's Last Three Wishes

App hamesha se, mujhe laal jode mein bohot achi lag thi thi.

Aapki teesri wish, aaj raat ko puri hogi.

Isse pehen kar, mujhe living room mein miliyega. 7:30pm

Zoya smiled for the umpteenth time in the last 24 hours. Her Akdu Ahmed Khan had indeed proved to be a romantic hero. His shockingly amusing dance to Salman Khan's Jane Jana left her awe struck. She knew he could sing. She's heard him before. She knew he could dance. After all they've had a lot of practice. She blushed at the memories.

But for him to do them at the same time? For her? In front of her? That was entirely new territory for her. And the intimacy of sharing a slice of pizza, that he has made for her, had her burning crimson yet again.

She held the note and kissed it, holding it close to her chest. She put it on the bed, as she turned her attention to the box with a red dress in it. As she slowly took out the different parts, she realized she had seen it before.

Hamari aasli sagai, thought Zoya, biting her lip. She quickly went to the bathroom to freshen up, and decided she would look her best, for her "no-longer emotionally-challenged" Mr. Khan. She blushed a little more, as she imagined all sorts of scenarios in which he might try to fulfill her wish.

* * * * * * *

She arrived at the living room, 7:30 sharp. Zoya was annoyingly on time for once. Asad was sitting on the sofa, tapping his feet, nervously. He was excited to spend some time alone with Zoya, finally. A month and half later, he realized that all he wanted, was to be with Zoya. To make her happy. And to see her smiling, always.

He was distracted by the sounds of heels clicking on the marble floor. Asad turned around and felt his breath hitch. There she stood, his Zoya, clad in the same red suit from their second, and official engagement, in front of the two most important people to them. Her hair was was draped on her shoulder in loose curls, just the way he liked it. Her usually pink lips, were chapped in a dark red lipstick, making them even more kissable. Her eyes lined with kohl and a subtle hint of eye shadow and blush. She looked ethereal. Exquisite. Like an angel.

Zoya blushed under his intense gaze. But couldn't look away. To say this man was a Greek God, was an understatement. To Zoya, his handsome features surpassed those of any Greek God, even Adonis himself. He was clad in a black suit, with a white button down shirt, and a black skinny tie. A small pocket square, red in color, completed his look. She smiled at how he attempted to match her, without compromising his own style.

They both looked into each other's eyes, and smiled, all of sudden very shy around each other. Asad walked up to her, and put out his hand. Zoya looked down at his gesture, and slipped her hand into his willingly. Their hands fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Asad interlaced his fingers with hers, and slowly guided her to the front door. Zoya looked down, and easily obliged, increasingly curious about what her Jahapana had planned for them.

* * * * * * *

The drive was silent, both of them too nervous to even attempt their usual banter. Asad sneaked a peek at Zoya, and noticed her fidgeting with her dupatta. He smiled to himself, and switching the gear shift to automatic, gently slipped his hand into hers, and entwined their fingers once more. Zoya felt that same familiar current, and realized why. She blushed some more, and bit her lip, suppressing a smile. They both tightened their grip on each other's hand, at the same time, and Asad's thumb lazily traced circles on the back of Zoya's palm. They both relished in the sweet intimacy and simplicity of the action.

A few more stolen glances, and blushes later, Asad finally brought the car to a slow stop. Reluctantly parting their hands, he switched the engine off, and told Zoya to close her eyes. She obliged, and faced the windshield, closing her eyes. Asad smiled. He took a blind fold out from his suit jacket, and gently tied it around her eyes. Zoya was slightly startled, but relaxed when she felt his firm fingers around her eyes. What is Jahapana up to?

He guided her out of the car, and to their destination, one step at a time, their hands entwined. Zoya was growing impatient. She wasn't used to being quiet this long, let alone being left in the dark about where she was going.

"Mr. Khan, hum kahan jaa rahe hain? Iss mulk mein hi hain na? Yah aap mujhe kisi abandoned island par lekar jaa rahe hain? Allah miya! Mr. Khan, boliye na, hum kahan jaa rahe hain?" inquired a curious Zoya.

Asad smiled at her antics. Any other day, her impatience and incessant questioning would have driven him up a wall. But tonight, he was amused by it. He was excited. Excited, that he would be able to spoil her some more, and fulfill yet another one of her wishes. He made her stand in front of him, when they reached the right spot, and whispered in her ear.

"Hum pohonch gaye, Zoya," his voice was husky, while his warm breath fanned her neck. Zoya felt her breath hitch and her heart beat wildly, as his hands made their way up to the ends of the blind fold. Releasing the knot, Asad slowly pulled the satin sash away from her eyes.

"Aankein kholie," he ordered softly.

Zoya slowly opened her eyes, and gasped. It was the same spot. The same spot, where their dua had been heard. The same spot, in which she'd fallen into his arms for the first time. The same spot, in which they had both seen a meteor shower. Her eyes moistened, as she thanked her stars yet again for bringing Asad into her life, and giving her the strength and the faith to fight for their love.

Asad had set up a beautiful romantic dinner for two. There was a table, with two fancy chairs, an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne, and a silver dish in the middle of the table, with a lid of the same shimmering material as it's base. A tent covered the dinner setting, with fabric so thin, you could still manage to take a peek at the stars on this beautifully starry night.

She turned around to look at him, with grateful eyes, and once again got lost in his chocolate gaze. Without breaking eye contact, Asad guided her to the dinner set up. He motioned her to sit, and pulled her chair for her. But instead of sitting across from her, he knelt right next to her.

To say Zoya was surprised, would be an understatement. Her Jahapana had shocked her so much, that she wasn't sure what to expect from him, and what not to expect. She watched him intently, as he pulled a velvet box out of his pant pocket. What all has he stashed away in his pockets?, she thought, stifling a giggle.

Asad put the velvet box in front of Zoya on the table, and motioned for her to open it herself. Zoya caressed the box, and pried it open. She gasped almost inaudibly, and felt her eyes moisten all over again.

It was a her ammi's earring. The one she thought she'd lost. He had it, this whole time?

"Mein jaanta hoon aapko gussa aaya hoga. Ki meine yeh rakha, aur aapko wapas nahin kiya. Lekin meine koshish ki thi, isse aapko wapas karne ki. Magar har baar kuch na kuch ho jaata tha. Aur do teen baar ke baad, meine rakh liya. Uss vaqt, woh mere liye aapka ek chotasa tukra tha, jo mein har roz apne saath leke ghumna chata tha," he defended himself, holding her hand, and tracing circles on the back of her palm. "Lekin, ab mujhe iski zaroorat nahi. Kyun ki aap puri ki puri meri hain," he finished.

Zoya continued to stare at her earring. She had made the right choice. She had chosen her love over the possibility of finding a stranger. And today, more than ever, she was grateful and proud that she had made the right decision. Zoya put the earring back in the box, and turned to face Asad. She entwined their fingers, with the hand he was already holding, and with her other hand, she caressed his cheek.

"Thank you, Mr. Khan. Aaj, aaj mujhe yakeen hogaya, ki meine sahi faisla liya. Apni mohabbat ko chunkar. Mr. Khan, mujhe aapko kuch batana hai...," she started. But Asad cut her off.

"Nahin, Zoya. Aaj nahin. Aaj raat ke liye sab kuch bhul jao. Abhi, yahan, sirf tum, aur mein hain. Aur koi nahin. Aur koi baat nahin. Baad mein, kaal, hum jee bhar ke baatein karenge. Jo tum batana chati ho, batao. Lekin aaj nahin." He looked her in the eye, as he said these last few words. He knew whatever she was going to say was related to Tanveer. And he didn't want anything related to that woman to ruin this special night.

He wanted to keep her smiling always, and he'd be damned if he didn't do everything in his power to make it happen.

Zoya smiled, a tear rolling down her cheek. Asad wiped it away, and let his hand linger on her cheek. She leaned into his touch, and closed her eyes, as he caressed her cheek with his thumb. They stayed like this for about a minute, taking in each other's touch. Zoya opened her eyes, and took his hand in hers, and gave it a soft peck.

"Toh bataiye, Jahapana, aur kya kya plan kiya hai aapne," she asked, getting back to the purpose of this beautiful set up. She saw him smile back at her. He stood up on his feet, and cleared his throat.

"Aaj, Jahapana, apne kaneez ko unki maan pasaand kachoriyan khilayenge," saying so he lifted the silver lid on the table to reveal a sizable package of kachoris, and two small bowls of chutney. Zoya beamed at him like a five year old.

"Allah miya, Mr. Khan! Thank you so much!," she squealed. He smiled at her antics, and sat down in his seat. They both ate their kachoris and kept sneaking glances at once another. When one of them had chutney on their lip, the other would get up and slowly wipe it off, both of them relishing in the intimacy of the moment.

After eating, Asad took Zoya's hand again, and guided her to the bench just a few meters from the tent. He sat her down on it, and stood in front of her. He shifted nervously, unsure of how to go about what he was planning on doing next.

Zoya looked at him curiously, noticing his discomfort. She smiled at him, and blinked softly, assuring him he should continue. He smiled back at her, a small knowing smile, and proceeded to get down on one knee. Zoya gasped.

He took out yet another velvet box from his other pant pocket, and held it in front of her.

"Allah miya, Mr. Khan! Aap kitni aur chisein apni pockets mein chupa ke rakhenge!" she teased. Asad rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but smile at her remark. He was like a magician to her. And he was loving every second of it.

He slowly opened the box, and heard Zoya gasp, for the umpteenth time that night.

It was her engagement ring. The same ring that he had put on her at the airport. The same ring, he slipped on her finger when they engaged in front of Phupi and Najma. The same ring that saved her life. The same ring, that she could never willingly take off. Zoya's eyes moistened yet again. This man is hell bent on making me cry all night!, she thought to herself, laughingly.

"Mr. Khan..."

"Zoya. Nahin. Ms. Zoya Farooqui. Kya aap iss akdu, emotionally challenged aur wolverine type, Jahapana Six Packs ke saath, apni puri zindagi, guzarna chahengi? Kya aap mera saath hamesha dengi? Mujhe kabhi bhi, chorkar nahin jayengi? Kya aap mujhse, nikaah karengi?" As he finished his speech, Asad felt himself choke up a bit. This is what he should have done long ago. Their nikaah was real. For all intense and purposes. Yet none of them were able to enjoy any of the ceremonies, because he kept making her believe that it was all a drama. He still couldn't believe Allah had given him the chance to make it up to her.

Zoya was in tears by this point, and smiled through them.

"Allah miya, Mr. Khan," she exclaimed, her voice watery. "Yeh bhi koi sochne ki baat hai? Sawal yeh hai, ki kya aap humein jail paenge. Soch lije, Mr. Khan. Kaam thoda sa mushkil hai," she teased.

"Woh kya hai na, Asad Ahmed Khan ko wahi kaam pasand hai, jo bohot hi mushkil ho."

"Oh really?," she sassed.

"Really. Ab aap bataiye, karengi aap humsein nikaah," he asked, more hopefully this time.

"Jee Mr. Khan. Meine aapko paake, sab kuch paya. Ab mujhe sach mein, aur kuch bhi nahin chaiye. Kuch nahin," and as she said this, she felt more tears come. Asad slowly slipped the ring back on to her finger, where it belonged, and sat next to her. He entwined both their hands together, and kissed the finger with the ring on it. Zoya blushed some more through her tears. He wiped her tears, and pinched her chin, to make her look at him. Asad gently shook his head, and Zoya smiled.

"Aapki teesri, chauthi, aur akhri wish bhi poore ho gaye. Upar dekhie," said Asad, pointing to the sky. Zoya gasped, as she saw a stream of shooting stars. But she blinked in confusion. Akhri?

"Mr. Khan, mera chaand kahan hai," she asked childishly. Asad smiled at her again.

"Mera chaand, bilkul mere saamne behta hai," explained. "Toh chaand to aapke paas hamesha tha."

Zoya smiled at him. He was explaining it to her like she was a child, and she somehow found that she loved it.

"Aur woh akhri khuaish? Meine to blank likha tha. Aapko kaise pata, mujhe kya chaiye?" Zoya was curious.

"Aapki aakhri wish mein zindagi bhar puri karoonga. Yeh hai meri zindagi ki sabse bari mission." He noticed Zoya looking at him with furrowed brows, and chuckled. He put his fingers under her chin once more, and finished his thought. "Aapko zindagi bhar khush rakhna, mera faarz, aur aapki khuaish hai. Inne mein apni akhri saans tak nibha-" but he couldn't finish.

Zoya put her palm on his lips. "Aise kabhi maat kahie, Mr. Khan. Kabhi nahin. Aapke bina, aapke bina, mein mar jaun-" but even she couldn't finish. Asad clamped his hand on her palm.

"Agar yeh baat meri zubaan se nahin sun sakti, toh mein bhi aapke zubaan se nahi sun sakta," he said, his voice pained.

They both looked at each other, lost in other's eyes. Making a thousand unsaid promised to each other. This was the day that marked the start of their new life together. Their nikaah, being a mere formality at this point. As far as they were concerned, in the eyes of God, they were already one.
