CC is pure white. Never wrong. Wise, intelligent and self sacrificing. Miss goody two shoes.

UB is pure black. Willing to destroy her family's happiness for the sake of portraying a unified family.

Where is the grey?

CC has seen UB sack Purvi's dad from his job all because he did not kow tow to her. She has seen her fake illness so Manav does not get married to her. She knows someone tried to sabotage her engagement. Eventually she finds out UB was behind all of this and yet she decides to be the perfect bharatiya nari and deletes evidence. Does not share what she knows with her husband and avows to keep the family together and keep UB's from falling from grace. Bitiya why are you not using your god given intelligence? Give us a woman who *thinks* please!

UB decides no low is low enough to stoop. All for what? A facade of unity? The math does not add up. Why are we not shown why she is so against modern thinking? The Mukut Kaumudi story could have been used to show how she thinks she preserved her family from the perils of modernity. Even Maansi Rugved track could have been used. But nah! We get nothing but pure black with no reasoning for why she feels CC is such a threat to her family other than her big ego of course.

Cmon CVs give us some back story. Help us understand na?

Give it time. The CVs need to show the battle field before they show the battle.

UB will NEVER relinquish her power for a slip of a girl with modern thinking. But she has to protect her own self from destruction. She is experienced, but malicious enough.

Chhan Chhan has also been brought up with Dadi's influence whereas she's righteous, but will do everything needed to protect her own interests.

So although both of them are on the same journey, their trip is different.

Guess I expected a shift in the narrative today. Either it did not come across effectively or we are back to good vs evil. Hopefully the rest of the week will bring some understanding.

CVs have to buck up their shoes and create stronger sub plots and explore more to create layers in the characters of protagonist !!

That's the thing. I want a back story to why UB is so paranoid about her place in the house. Why she feels a person with independent thinking will usurp her place. What is the basis of her fears. I know the story initially referred to something about how matilal and his brother/siblings were embroiled in a property dispute and how mukut had to be brought back home by underhanded means. But those were just hints and did nothing to show why UB is who she is.

CC is vanilla. She has had a good upbringing. Knows her mind and follows her heart. Her actions, I can understand. It is UB that has me puzzled.

And this has been my biggest grouse all along, UB's messed up characterization. I prefer to say, hastily put together and in that haste they made her black...yesterday's epi looked like they were working towards fixing it but today kind of made things a little more confusing. Lets see how it plays out for the rest of the week.

What will CC achieve by showing evidence of Umaben's plans to the family? Show them Umaben's real face, her true motives?

Okay ... then what? Umaben still remains their wife and mother, they will not disown her. All the members of the family will be forced to take sides ... and all, with the possible exception of Kaumudi, will take Umaben's side ... at least in public. Kaumudi will not be able to go against her MIL in public either. Manav will be torn in two and will probably walk out with Chhanchhan. If he does, his father and brothers will blame Chhanchhan for leading him away from the family ... and Umaben will be proved right in one stroke ... bringing a modern girl into the family has destroyed it.

One thing I have realised over the years ... no one can stand insult of their parents for long ... not even when they know their parents might be wrong.

And I think UB has a back story for sure ... it will be brought up in time. Today Dadaji referred again to the fight between Matilal and his brother ... yesterday Umaben referred to it in her talk with Chhanchhan ... it had come up in the earliest episode when Umaben was frequenting the court and meeting lawyers. We need to wait and watch for that to unfold ... I think it will be brought in much later, once the brothers' problems are solved. The last problem will be the fight between Babuji and his brother ...

Diya, I agree. Exposing UB to the family probably does squat. But keeping it from Manav and deleting the video doesn't make sense to me. Chalo giving benefit of doubt lets say she did the right thing now what? She knows her MIL's motives. From the looks of today's epi, I think CC believes that UB agrees with her. That their idealogies differ but they can live with each other. The trust while broken can slowly be mended.

OK, couple of epis in, CC realizes UB is still coal black, then what? She is left fending for herself. Manav is now convinced his mom is always right. Where does CC go from there?

I have no qualms about her taking the high road but I also find it foolish deleting the video when clearly your MIL hasn't proved herself worthy of trust.

Today's episode was a bit confusing, the creatives diffused the confrontation pretty fast. At the end it seemed Chhanchhan had some idea how she will go about earning UB's trust but next day again things were back to normal and Chhanchhan was caught off guard by UB.

The only change was UB does not have to pretend to be overly sweet, both know where each stand and directly address things. Today I could not understand UB, was it another of her tricks to make Chhanchhan look like a disruptor or was it indeed a solution she thought of. Of course, experience says it's a another of her methods to show Chhanchhan as a creator of problems. Neither could I understand Chhanchhan, she seemed to gone back into routine not really thinking of a plan to rectify things.

I agree with Diya, and pretty much knew she won't show the clip to anyone yet, but I don't think she needed to delete it. Chhanchhan was showing her goodwill towards UB and also seemed very sure of winning her over, but that is the reason the morning scene of Chhanchhan being clueless confused me.

You know, I don't understand Uma either- all those reasons she gave, seemed gibberish to me too. But let's wait. Maybe there's a reason. And I'm sure, OK I HOPE , CC has a back up video somewhere. Maybe with Simple, maybe in her laptop. Oh wait- imagine- if it was in her laptop, and Manav accesses it one day while using it, he would be doubly, in fact, triply impressed. And if they live in their own house, maybe she can continue working?And CC will slowly but surely impress the family with how she runs the house. I don't know what they'll do tomorrow- the CVs have made it their mission to shock us at every turn.
