Good thinking but I disagree with the concept of seasons on Indian television:)
The concept of bringing seasons have already been tried and tested on Indian platform but have never worked!! It's because ppl here are more attached to the show and once the show goes off air they tend to keep them as memories and wouldn't carry on watching with the second season!! These concepts go well with the American soaps but from Indian POV I think it won't go down well with the type of audience here:)

Regarding work load for actors, I think PH should follow American work culture where people work for five days a week n remaining two days will be a off:) this surely reduces the fatigueness to a great extent:) instead of aping the western concept of getting seasons for a show I would prefer if they implement their work culture:)

Well I'm sorry about how this might sound, but a concept of seasons doesn't work in a country like India.

Here, the youth, the adults, the major population is more inclined towards daily soaps. And the concept of seasons is NOT appreciated. I am myself an American show viewer and they have appealed to me.. Just because my mentality is like that and I can go forward with the idea of seasons.

But audience in a country like India is not really towards the concept of season. Your idea is nice, but in a place like India, 👎🏼

See here, the concept of seasons will be beneficial in outside countries! Like Europe, USA etc! But India, here the audience is different and let them be different! 😃 They aren't used to seasons so let them be! The PH perfectly knows what appeals to the indian audiences!

About extra work, actors should be made to work 5 days/ 6 days a week! 😳

So viewers will turn away if there's a break in season? Not if they are dedicated fans. They will keep waiting and keep a buzz going, and then they can come back. While they may watch something different (why force them to watch only D3 all the time?), they'll come back, and also, if that other show is produced by the same company, it's still good for that company. On the other hand, if the show starts wearing out and dragging, as D3 and more so SG is, people will be turned away even when it is on air. So many D3 fans have decided to quit watching D3 after several heartbreaking moments.

The way the concept of seasons can be exploited by production companies is by finishing one season of one show and starting a season of another, thus keeping a common fan base.

p.s. I didn't realise there are H3 fans (like me) on this forum as well.

yaa...that wud be much better...and its no new...like foreign shows...D3 in seasons wud be very nice...with a little time-leap between every seson...the unnecessary story pulling of indian tv shows results only in slow and steady decline in the interest level of the viewers...but our indian society...is the most difficult thing to change...so i guess we can jst make a topic on IF but the thinking remains the same...

This Indian society is an unpleasable base. They want the show to go on and on, but when something goes wrong, they'll ditch the show (multiple examples here itself) and leave it running with a lot less watching. This alternative is actually good not just for the production crew and actors, but also for the viewers.

This is a better concept than what is already running, but nobody has tried it out. It has plenty of advantages. It gives the actors, the production crew, and the viewers, some much-needed rest. There's more to life than watching D3- like, Crazy Stupid Show. Or some foreign show. Or just switch off the TV and go on a little holiday or hang out. Take a break, then come back and enjoy a refreshed season of D3. The actors also get a break. Folks who actually want to pursue a career in dance or wish to act in perfect bride serials get to do so.

Season-wise breakups are good for TV shows that have DVD package releases. You can't release DVDs so easily of something that's over 400 episodes. Yes, I know, you'll download by torrent or rapidshare, but finding links for Indian TV shows is often difficult, and a bit of a strain. Instead of spending money on tickets for movies which eventually turn out to be dreadful, and certainly, instead of spending money on Mahesh Bhatt and Sunny Leone movies, you can spend on DVDs of Indian TV shows, which will not cost much. And if it is readily available, for not too much, you don't need to chase rapidshare and torrent, which have their fair share of nasty surprises. Of course, majority of what Indians download are foreign recordings, which have absolutely no presence in Indian retail chains- but D3 definitely should. There's plenty to earn by DVD sales.
