He could hear pammi's voice fading as he rushed to the hospital.
Dr completed the preliminary check up which Maan paced restlessly realizing how badly has he failed in his responsibilities. He never could be dreamy husband as anni described.. still geet accepted him with all his short comes. She did work hard & successfully become his true soul mate. & what did he did, just nothing.
How much even he tried he couldn't understand why would his ma take a shard of his heart & jam it into him just to get a feel of superiority. How did he let Geet to be so vulnerable. Wasn't he the one supposed to protect her.
There was anger in his stomach. A hot, red emotion burning just low of his heart. He pushed aside the pain & sadness & grief & try to focus solely on her. Right now she was, his heart ached.. she was not alone.. their baby!! he closed his eyes remorsefully.
why wouldn't she tell him anything... he hit his head on the wall, just then he heard the dr coming out of the emergency room.
Maan paced restlessly towards her ' is she alright?
Dr looked at him ' ideally I am supposed to report to the police with that marks on her
Maan was ashamed. He clenched his fist tight & follows her to the cabin
dr ' do u realize she is 19 week pregnant
this high fever is not good. If u wanted an abortion then why stopped birth control pills.
Dr was really irritated ' anyway it is too late for abortion now
Maan spoke angered ' we don't want abortion
dr spoke back in equally angered tone ' then why is ur wife so horrified
why r u guys treating her like this. Isn't she supposed to be pampered instead of made conscious of her weight gain.
Maan ' is she alright? He spoke feeling faulty
dr shied ' yes
Maan ' & the baby?
dr looked at him disappointed ' u don't even know there r two of them
his heart felt overwhelmed yet with a pang of piercing hurt.
Maan tried stop those tears - can I see her
dr ' I don't think she wants to
he looked away feeling miserable. He fluttered his lashes inhaled sharply ' I want to speak to her once
dr ' I can't allow u right now. She is been traumatized. Ur presence will only make her panic & panicking is not good for the fetuses.
Maan wipes what remains of the tears from his eyes inhaling strongly, gives one look at the dr in front and storms out of the cabin.
Daadi & Pammi had just rushed in to the hospital.
Maan glares at his ma. The anger in his stomach spreading everywhere, masking the pain in his chest & the anguish in his eyes.
Aap ne aisen kyun kiya ma
he pauses, hoping his ma sees the pain that others don't.
He glares as hard as he could, half hoping that his ma should feel deep down the pain he is feeling right now & other half wanting his ma to hate him for being a such a jerk all this while. Not stopping his ma when he could.

Geet slept off with the drips & tiredness after dr had completed her check up & reassured the babies r fine. She told the dr atleast 10 times before dossing off not to do any thing to the baby even if her husband insisted. Dr had asked her of the marks on her cheek & geet just dipped her head in pain.

Daadi broke the attention from Ma to herself ' geet kaisen hi beta
Maan nodded
daadi ' sab teehk tho hain na beta
Maan sighed
daadi ' where is she? I want to see her
Maan took daadi to the private room where geet was now kept. Dr had suggested he could take her home after couple of hrs.
daadi went in & softly stroked her hair. Daadi sat near her until she woke up. Daadi reassured her & told her everything was going to be ok. Geet caressed her stomach.
Maan didn't let ma go near her. But ma was ma, which wouldn't listen. She just went in & hugged her daughter ' in ' law.
Maan was taken a back at the ease between them. Then began all the restrictions & list of dos & no dos from his ma. Geet just quietly listened to all. She seemed so happy with ma caring for the baby.. he corrected himself babies.
He wished if it was that easy for him too.. to just go in & hug her. Wish the kashmakash between them got sorted that easily. Nothing wrong in trying he thought walking into their room latter at night when daadi & ma had finally left geet to sleep.
Regardless of the pain throbbing in his chest and the tears burning in his eyes, he tried to smile. He didn't want her to see the worst of his worst. He went & sat near her. Geet got up resting her head uncomfortably at the head board. She so clearly could see that mixed emotion on his face, that horrified her.
He reached to help with the pillow. She instantly pulled her hand to protect herself, like she expected him to attack her. He broke off miserably
why do u ever think I would hurt u dammit
he burst out in frustration. probably he did.. yes he had.. but.. he clenched his teeth
She cuddled in fear pulling the sheet towards her neck. His aggression only added to fear.
He calmed instantly seeing her tremble
His worst being, his shaking hands reached her ever so slowly, knuckles turning white as teeth ground together. He looked at her trembling in fear, teary mess and looks down again. There is fear in her face, in her features and her eyes.
Geet he spoke in a remorseful voice. She looked up at him.
His eyes spoke volumes, regret for the things that went wrong, the years that could have been beautiful not for the battling personalities yet in sync.
There was pain his chest. Honestly it felt more than physical pain as if his heart is more than just an overrated pump and could feel the knife ripping through inside. It was so poignant, throbbing ache matching every heartbeat and pushing against his lungs. It is dam hurting. In 6 years of marriage, it has never hurt this much, never ached physically as well as emotionally. It wasn't the pain of being a loser, or a failure, it was the pain of realization. That even after 6 years of marriage, he couldn't get her to trust him with her.
Maan - I want the babies as much as u want he spoke begging her to believe

his words felt so shallow to himself. Just few hours ago he was at the verge of losing everything.
She spoke in between her tears ' babaji gave back our babies to us
he couldn't agreed to more

yes he gave it back inspite of my sins.
Probably ur babaji didn't want to punish u for my sins
he knew his few words of reassurance is not going to make any difference.
