The father leaves no oppourtunity to verbally and emotionally abuse his son and remind him at every waking moment of how worthless he is. And he himself is shown to be a man of great morals and righetousness. If he was this good a man, then why did he deliberately set about ruining the life of an innocent girl, by trapping her into marrying his worthless son?😕
The mother becomes a Gandhari and closes her eyes to all her son's misdeeds and expects her newly married daughter-in-law to reform a man, whom she hasn't been able to change till now.
The sister is grumpy and condescending without any reason and keeps insulting and putting down her husband like it is her favorite hobby!
The son-in-law doesn't seem to have either a backbone or any self-respect, putting up with a shrew like wife and staying in his in-laws home.
The son is a drunkard loser who verbally and physically abuses his wife and vents out his frustation on her, because she is the easiest available target.
The domestic help (Kalika) gets away with not just flirting openly with the son (and other men) of the house, but dressing up so provocatively.
The other domestic help (Murak Das) doesn't know what to speak, when to speak and most importantly, when to stop speaking.
The only person having some semblance of normality is little Sid...who looks like a misfit in this house of weirdos!
For one, please someone explain, how can Alak and Pramad, who must be atleast in their late twenties have a brother who is atleast two decades younger than him?Confused If only Mr. Dharamadhikari had shown some kind of an affection towards his wife, I could have still believed that they probably still sleep together and Sid was a result of one of such careless nightly endevours!😆
I think Saras will stay back, no only because he wants Kumud's forgiveness, but also because he has seen with his own eyes, the soup in which Kumud has landed, indirectly due to him! His penance is not just seeking Kumud's forgiveness, it is also helping her get her get out of this mess.

Great post, quite humorous as well. Yes I think you are right about Saras staying behind now that he knows about Pramad. But I would hate to see a track on Saras now trying to change Pramad for the better. No way Jose am I ready to see him tame Pramad for Kumud. Might as well end the serial!

Good points!!
Bringing a wife for Pramad to reform him esp without letting her know about his true nature was totally wrong. And yes, the father's way of accusing and taunting about his son openly in front of everyone isn't right (although this doesn't excuse the son's behavior). Looks like Alak takes after her father in this regard since she too insults and taunts about her husband's short-comings in front of everyone...

Agree.

Can't believe how welcoming the father-daughter duo are towards a complete stranger and insulting towards their own. I'm actually starting to sympathize with Pramad after I heard how the father spoke to him.

And the daughter what earthly reason does she have to constantly have that irk on her face whenever her husband is around?

We need a back story here.
