Chapter 19B:
Uday stormed into his room and immediately fixed himself a scotch. He couldn't remember the last time he had been so angry. Not even when that Akash had his arm around Manyata, not even when Manyata refused to marry him claiming she loved Akash. It was the recent progress they had been making in their relationship that made this particular rejection especially painful.
Quickly downing the contents of his glass, he reveled in the burning sensation as his preferred poison made its way down his throat. The burn served as a momentary distraction to the pain but it wasn't nearly enough to numb his aching heart. Frustrated, Uday picked up whatever sat on his dresser and began smashing everything onto the floor in blind rage. When there was nothing left to break, Uday stormed over to his punching bag and began venting his anger…completely oblivious to the cuts and gashes on his hands. Finally having found something to focus his energies on, Uday delivered blow after blow as Akash's face, images of Manyata and Akash together, of them being intimate flashed in his mind.
God knows for how long he had been at it and would have continued if he had not been for Jai…

The past two days had left Jai very upset, particularly the conversation she had with Manyata. Though she stood by what she said, the guilt of causing her Jiji pain coupled with the realization that Uday would never be hers was eating Jai away. She had been mindlessly walking the corridors making her way to Vijaybhai's room when she heard crashing and the sound of glass breaking. Worried, she turned the corner began making her way toward Uday's room where she realized the sound was coming from. The sight before her caused her to stop dead in her tracks. Jai didn't know what had happened but by now she had understood one thing, only Manyata could so deeply affect Uday. As she quietly made her way into the room, Jai realized she had never seen Uday loose his cool like this. Correction, never in the last ten years…she had a few vague memories of him from childhood and all of them involved extreme reactions whenever her Jiji was concerned.
"Ab toh manlo ke aap Jiji se pyaar karte hai…", Jai quietly said from behind Uday. She saw him stop mid-punch and stand completely still as the weight of what she said lay thick in the air.
"Patta hai, hume humesha lagta tha ke hum aapse pyaar karte hai. Issi liye hum pichle do dino se Jiji se naraaz the," Jai said asshe slowly brought Uday over to the bed and made him sit. She walked back across into his bathroom and brought out the first aid kit, proceeding to clean his wounds.
"Dekho Jai, hume iske baare mein—
"Kyunke hume lagta tha ke unki wage se hum aapko kho denge aur unko aapka pyaar dikhta hi nahin," Jai continued completely ignoring Uday's protest. Uday definitely didn't want to have this conversation right now and especially not with Jai but he sensed something different in her today and decided he might as well hear her out at this point. "Magar aaj hume ehsaas hua ke hum aapse toh pyaar karte hi nahin. Hum Yuvraj se pyaar karte hai, hum Veer se pyaar karte hai…magar Uday ko toh hum jaante hi nahin toh pyaar kaise? Uday ko jaanne ka haq sirf aapne Jiji ko diya tha aur diya hai. Aur jab yeh baat humne samjhi toh aapko khone ka koi dard nahin," Jai said as she smiled faintly at a very carefully listening Uday. He sat very still listening intently to her, not knowing what to say as this was definitely not the conversation he was expecting. Luckily, he didn't have to say anything as Jai was apparently not done…
"Aap pichle kahin dino se sab kuch theekh karne mein lagge hai. Magar jab tab aap apne aapse sach nahin bolenge toh sab theekh kaise hoga? Veer, aap Jiji ko haasil karne ki vagey paane ki koshish karne, purre dil se, toh aap zaroor kaamiab honge," Jai concluded looking straight at Uday trying to gauge his response. But he was stoic. Whatever he was thinking or feeling was well guarded behind that impenetrable mask of his. She just hoped Veer would come to the realization she had just had quickly and stop her Jiji from going away again. She knew if Manyata married Akash, they would lose her in a sense. They may see her from time to time but she would not be with them in the same way…Veer was the only one who could stop this, and give Jiji the happiness she doesn't even know she wants.
Jai had almost made her way out the door when Uday finally spoke. "Hume aapko samajh ne mein bohot galti kardi Jai. Aaj patta chala aap humaari behn ko itni aachi kyun lagti hai."
"Bas Veer, hum itne bhi acche nahin hai," Jai began with a sly smile. "Hum abh bhi utne hi ghamandhi hai jitna aap sochte the," she said with a dramatic flip of her hair as her smile widened.
"Haha. I have no doubt beautiful," Uday called out winking as Jai left.

Finally updating part B! I know no ManVeer in this chapter for you guys but I promise you'll get some in the next one. It took me a long time to write this chapter since I started writing again after a long break. But I think I've gotten the ball rolling once again so hopefully, you'll get more frequent updates.
