When is it harder to portray chemistry?

Hello my fellow KSians,

I felt like posting an interesting topic and this question had been playing in my head for a while now.

When is it harder to portray chemistry with the person opposite? (Lets limit this to romantic pairings for now). How comfortable do you need to be with the other person to portray the right reaction?

Near the beginning of Kasam Se, we were all (or most) amazed by the sizzling chemistry Jai and Bani had. Jai hated Bani and she didn't feel any particular love for him either. But the Jiya Dhadak Dhadak moments really did it for us and we began to love one of the most unique pairings on the small screen. There was spice in their relationship which excited us.

How about before the ONS? Bani hated Jai but we still were yearning to see scenes between them, we still felt the electrifying chemistry. After the ONS, Jai tried to keep Bani happy as much as possible and got to see some sweet and romantic scenes between them.

For me that was when I didn't see chemistry b/ween JB. Since then I haven't seen it...so my question is:

Is it easier to portray cold emotions than the romantic??? (Even if you did love the mushy scenes between JB).

Tell me what you guys think about the importance of chemistry between the main leads. 😊

Reemz,
Post ONS, Buddha was shown to be guilt ridden hence I think that contributed to what you're saying.

But I'm still a complete JB despo! Their love-hate relationship was definetly exciting to watch but I love equally to watch them settled and content.

But Rani you didn't answer my question. Whats harder? Giving cold expressions or acting all mushy? Whats more challenging for an on-screen couple?

I think it's portraying "hatred". Abviously that will be more "exciting" but I think it definetly is more challenging (at least when two actors are comfortable off screen and friendly)

i think i understand what ur saying...
we may have had some romantic scenes after ONS, but whenever i was seeing it i was always remembering scenes from ONS n i didn't feel the same way as be4, be4 the Park Road raazhad been revealed.
even if we have a new guy after leap, we'll still hoping to see jai-bani n no one else!

Reemz the answer to your question is that it depends. In RK and PD case it's different PD being all uncomfortable to protray those kind of scenes is just...i don't know what to say there...
but as for which ones harder, interesting question...i've never been in a relationship but from what i've seen i'm going to have to say that mushy ones harder to because you don't know how the other person would act like...meaning you can feel awkward and safe at the same time...i don't know if im making sense...but if you are cold it's like easy because the other person doesn't expect anything from you or so to speak...
hope that helps

But isn't it equally harder when there is no romance between them in real life?

So you found more chemistry in the cold scenes?

Well in this particular case, I think it might be easier for Pranchi the actress to do cold scenes instead of romantic ones....because lets face it there is a HUGE age difference between the 2 actors so they prolly feel the most comfortable doing the cold scenes....

They are good in romantic scenes too.....but the cold scenes are prolly easier for them

Maybe the age difference doesn't allow the same intimacy. Otherwise the comfort level between Ram and Prachi is very good.
