This "Rani to quit acting" statement seems like nothing but an excuse to me, or in other words, a way to play safe. If Mardaani flops then they'll probably say that oh it doesn't matter that it flopped, because it was Rani's last movie anyway and a flop does not matter to her anymore blah blah blah. However, if Mardaani is a hit, then she'll probably change her mind and continue to have her one "last" movie unless of course, one ends up flopping.
